Pension income letter from Canada Embassy

Featured Replies

I have just been informed that Canadian Embassy is no longer issuing pension letters. They stated that Thai immigration would accept six months of bank statements on a one time basis. They didn’t state a cutoff date for this.
I will contact my office in Hat Yai after flooding has subsided.
Apparently, we will now have to have money in bank or monthly transfers in place.

blessings to all those in flood conditions

The Canadian Embassy ceased issuing the income verification letter quite some time ago. You would be wise to ask your local Immigration Office what they require, because they are not all the same. For Jomtien, for example, I have to supply a 12-month bank statement.

I’ve been using the Canadian Embassy’s pension income notarized document for the last three years up until this year.

The Embassy of Canada in Thailand announced it would stop providing income letters for Thai immigration on February 16, 2025, with the service officially ending on April 1, 2025. The embassy stated it would no longer offer this informal practice because it could not legally verify or guarantee an individual's income, and other methods are available to prove income eligibility for Thai Immigration. Embassy income letters were always valid for 6 months.

Now you have to deposit 400/800K in a Thai bank account, or provide evidence of 12 monthly overseas transfers of 40/65K to a Thai bank account.

Sounds as though they have requested Immigration to allow leniency for this year, as they did when the UK, US and Australian Embassies ceased the Income letters.
