Tattoo Ink May Harm Immune Cells and Weaken Vaccines

New research reveals that tattoo ink can travel from the skin to lymph nodes, potentially killing immune cells and reducing the body’s ability to respond to vaccines. Scientists at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) in Switzerland conducted a study that tracked the movement of ink pigments and their impact on immune function.

The study found that pigments from tattoos do not stay confined to the skin. Instead, they accumulate in draining lymph nodes, which play a key role in the immune system. Once there, some pigments can kill specialized immune cells called macrophages. These cells are responsible for detecting pathogens and triggering an immune response, including the production of antibodies.

This disruption may have important consequences for vaccination. In the study, mice that received mRNA vaccines near tattooed skin showed weaker antibody responses than those vaccinated in tattoo-free areas. Although more research is needed in humans, the findings suggest that tattoos could influence how effectively the body fights infections or responds to immunizations.

Researchers stress that not all tattoo pigments are equally harmful, and effects may depend on the composition and location of the tattoo. Still, the study raises awareness about potential long-term immune impacts of tattooing and highlights the importance of further investigation into pigment safety.

Key Takeaways:

Tattoo pigments can migrate to lymph nodes, disrupting immune cell function.

Immune interference from ink may reduce vaccine effectiveness in affected areas.

Not all inks pose the same risk; further research is required to evaluate safety.

Oh really, so my father, 81, doing ok for his age, covered in some of the largest tattoos I've ever seen - full back and chest, legs and arms too going back decades to the 60's and 70's and into the 2000s

No problem, rarely a cold over decades - sure, his immune system must be f****d, lol

Then there's the 50 a day for 50 years smoking habit he had but that's another topic - which strangely also had zero effect on him to this day and yes, he's alive right now and breathing just fine.

Hilarious 🙄

Just that many people use the same type of argumentation to try to negate the damage that tobacco does to people...

LOL

Anything to tout the Vaxxxxxxxxxx eh?

Maybe they could just take a bigger dose? and extra boosters? 😃. Pretty Please?

What a coincidence.

I'm shocked by all these coincidences...

I'm going to top up my vaxxxes just in case my tatt renders me prone to infection to something.

👍

So people with tattoos should get extra boosters?

Lol ... whoda thunk ... a link between vaccines and tattoos !!

Good find, AN.

There certainly are a lot of coincidences lately.   It’s a good thing we know that it’s possibly tattoos that are causing all the autoimmune issues that have crowded my dermatologists office over the last couple years.

If you’re suffering from a tattoo coincidence, perhaps the Kaufman institute is for you.

I bet the Navy-style tattoos over many decades used not only less invasive, non-high tech inks, but different tattooing methods.

Who'd want to live with the same picture hung on the wall...for life?!? Pretty soon you'd just stop admiring your spouse.

I'm sure Pfizer and Moderna are on the case, a vaccine against tattooed vaccine resistance. Something along those lines, Science™ has a solution for everything.

A lot of BGs face health problems later on

Funnily enough, walked by the tattoo parlour on Suk Soi 4 just this morning.......it was rammed at 11am.

I’m just glad that my tattooed friends never got vaccinated.

Would certainly be a bummer to be inked and vaccinated.   Double boosters for life?   It’s one hell of a subscription program.

Someone has to do it. I stepped up to the plate so others don't have to.

Sadly, on a very short leash as SWMBO was with me.

Before getting any kind of a tattoo it's a good idea to get a check-up from the neck up.

There may be a screw loose somewhere.

Health issues aside, it's a regression to savagery in one of its most obvious and lamentable forms.

You mean RFK jr., don't you?

JFK jr. died in a plane crash a long time ago.
