transfer visa from old to new passport at any office?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I've read conflicting advice from different sources regarding whether you need to transfer a non-B visa to a new passport at the original office where you got the visa stamp or if you can do it at any office. Has anyone had any recent experience?  Also, not sure if we have to photocopy all the used pages in our old passport too or just the last visa stamp?

You can't transfer a VISA to a new passport,

but

With that being said, I'd bet dollars you durian you're not here on any visa, but instead on an extension of stay based on employment from a Non-B.

If you got a new passport and are on an extension of stay you have to go to the office that issued the extension to move the stamp.

Other immigration offices are not obligated in the least to move the stamps for you.

In your new pp immigration will make note and reference details of the Non B.

The actual visa is not transfered.

The extension of stay stamp will be transferred.

This needs to be done at immigration office that issued the extension.

The form that Tod linked above has required docs listed at bottom of form.

Note it's not urgent need just do when suitable time.

My original Visa was from Hull in 2009, work permit in Pattaya. Stamped into my new Passports twice at Phitsanulok.

So you are getting yearly "extensions of stays" at the immigration office in Phitsanulok.

At some point you had to transfer the stamps from the old passport to the new passport and you most likely did that at the office that issued the extension you were on when you got the new passport.

Thanks Tod. Correct.

Just renewed Extension and Re-Entry permit. In & Out in 30 minutes, but it takes me 45 minutes to drive there, and the same back home! Love P'lok Immigration and online 90 days.

Many thanks for the replies - guess I can't avoid going to the dreaded immigration at Jaeng Wattana to get the extension transferred.

Yes you need to attend CW.

Assume that's where the stamps were issued.

Here is thread with some discussion.

There is no appointment available for stamp transfer.
