1984 draws near !

The nightmare of Britain today: freedom of speech suppressed.

Political affiliations become irrelevant.  The official narrative must not be threatened by cogent arguments that cannot cursorily be dismissed.

I just started watching another interview with this guy.

The reporter asked him about being accused by the PM of "backing Hezbollah".

And his answer is a bit dodgy ... "I'm not sure what he means by backed" and "I'm not sure what business that is of his".

The interviewer replies that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization and Galloway brushes it off.

So ... this guy may not be as innocent as he claims.

And this may be blown out of proportion. They won't arrest any Joe Blow. You really do have to be doing something that is considered a threat to national sovereignty to be arrested like that.

So, no it's not 1984.

But you can't just do whatever you want either.

Sounds to me like this guy believes he should be PM and is trying to run the country through his podcast.

Wake up, it's already been around for quite a while , only getting much worse.

wonder if it's affecting  speaker's corner , suspect there will be a few undercover police around

Sorry, forgot to link the interview.

Thank you for the link to the video.

I feel obliged to say that my "reading" of the interview does not coincide with yours.

Galloway draws attention to the ambiguity of the question put to him, which the interviewer fails to clarify.
For example, if I express sympathy with the residents of Gaza,  there are some would accuse me of "backing Hamas", implying I support terrorism.
In which case my reply might be to point out  that the Israeli Government is a terrorist organisation.  As also its antecedents going back at least as far as the Nakba.
