Documents needed to visit my Thai wife

Featured Replies

Gday

If I came to Thailand on  a visa exemption 60 days German passport married to a Thai I could apply after

every 60 days visa expempt entry to visit my wife  obtaining 60 days right?

Which documents are required at immigration apart from a valid passport?

We're seeing more and more immigration offices not allowing the 60 day 'visit thai family' extension on free stamp (visa exempt) entries, 😕  although IT Square Laksi Plaza in Bangkok allows it..

I think you'd be better off coming in on a single entry, 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai, that you get from the Thai consulate in your country before you come here.

That way you could for sure get the 60 day 'visit thai family' extension. Plus it would give you 5 months total in country. 🙂

As far as documents you'd need copies of:
Data page of your passport
Visa
Entry stamp
Wife's Thai I/D
Her house book listing
Marriage documents
TM 30

Filled out TM 7 application for extension w/a passport sized photo and 1900 baht

Which immigration office.

You can obtain a 60 extension "to visit wife" from even a visa exempt entry however in recent times this has been problematic at some offices.

Which immigration office.

Note: wife will need to attend immigration for application.

How long would you want to stay in Thailand.

Just one person's opinion.

I would obtain a Non O eVisa.

Enter with that and prior to expiry of 90 day stamp obtain 60 day extension to visit wife.

90+60 gives you 5 months and avoids visa exempt entry.
