This system will generate 12kwhr per sunny day, saving 1,000bht a month and pay for itself in under 2 years. No special wiring skills or knowledge required.

You need

1x PowMr 6.2kw inverter 7kbht*

https://s.lazada.co.th/s.Z0jslr

5x Rapid 600w N-type bifacial mono split solar panels 5x 2kbht*

https://s.lazada.co.th/s.Z0jsMs

1x 16a DC breaker 85bht

https://s.lazada.co.th/s.Z0jsqV

1x mc4 connector 90bht (10 pack)

https://s.lazada.co.th/s.Z0jsIA

1x 2 pin mains plug

2.5mm twin insulated.

Not included in budget.

A builder/welder to build a solar rack on a nearby wall or spare land and 2 x 1 stainless box steel. 1kbht for box steel.

connect panels together in series,

run 2.5mm twin from panels to DC breaker to inverter.

Connect mains plug to inverter with 2.5mm twin cable.

Inverter settings

(38)Max grid current 10a

(37) Hybrid on

(01) SUB mode (solar/utility/battery)

This will spin your meter back at approx 12 units/day.

Turn it off the day the meter reader comes.

Warning

You could use more than 5x panels but would need to connect the mains to a fuse box with 4mm wire. Not plug it into a normal wall socket (10a max) as I have suggested.

Did you do this yourself?

Does it connect to the main electrical system of the house, and you can switch between the two?

Is it enough to power 1 x 18,000 BTU and 1 x 12,000 BTU air-conditioners, as well as normal household appliances such as a large fridge, washing machine, 75 inch smart TV at the same time?

Thanks.

  1. Yes I did

  2. I only have the kitchen running directly from it via 4 sockets (too lazy to rewire the fusebox)

  3. 310 (ish) Units a month are generated, That powers my EV car, EV bicycle, my entire household (fridge/freezer, oven, toaster, kettle, rice cooker, lights 75" TV, NAS, 2x PC, washing machine, assorted fans, 12K BTU air-con (3hrs/day).

  4. I turn it off when the meter reader comes so they can't see the meter running backwards and I usually turn it off for a couple of days, so there's 30-40 units on the meter to keep them happy, bill usually 150-200bht/month. Currently my meter is at -11 units, so I'll need to run the aircon a bit more or turn the 'export' off for a while.

I'll just add, these PowMr hybrids may be unreliable, but at 6,400bht direct from the factory store in Thailand and a 3 year warranty ...... what's the worst that can happen?

It breaks, and my bill goes up for a few months before they fix it.

Or I buy a new one to plug in while it's being repaired.
