A woman waiting at a bus stop in Pathum Thani was killed on the morning of 11 December, after a pickup truck lost control and spun into a roadside shelter. The incident occurred at around 08:00 on the inbound lane of the Rangsit–Nakhon Nayok Road at Khlong 8 in Lam Phak Kut, Thanyaburi district. Police and rescue workers arrived to find the body of Panyatip, an employee at the Halfway House for Men in Pathum Thani, lying near the bus shelter.

Investigators from Thanyaburi Police Station said they received the initial report from duty officer Pol Lt Col Yosawat Srilaphat before rushing to the scene with rescue personnel. Officers confirmed that the victim had been standing at the shelter when the fatal collision occurred. Rescue workers later transferred her body for further examination.

The driver of the pickup truck, 61-year-old Banphot, told police he had been travelling normally when the vehicle ahead of him suddenly lost control and spun. He said the driver of that vehicle managed to regain control, causing him to panic and brake sharply. His own truck then lost traction, causing the rear to spin into the bus shelter and strike the woman, killing her instantly.

Banphot apologised to the victim’s family, saying he had not intended for the crash to occur. Police brought him to Thanyaburi Police Station for further questioning and to record his full account of the incident. Officers also documented the crash scene with photographs as part of the initial investigation.

According to police, the body of the deceased was handed over to the Ruamkatanyu Foundation to be transported to the Institute of Forensic Science. Authorities said the victim’s relatives would be contacted so they can collect her body and proceed with funeral rites.

Komchadluek reported that investigators are to review additional evidence, including any available CCTV footage and witness statements. Police will also determine whether any charges are appropriate once the full findings are compiled.

Sure.

Not speeding and tailgating then.
