The changes, intended to tighten control of visa-free entries and prevent abuse such as repeated crossings for illicit work, have left some travellers and hotel operators confused. Under the revised approach, some tourists are now limited to a certain number of visa-exempt entries, sparking questions about enforcement and communication. Industry leaders argue that clearer public information is needed to avoid deterring future visitors. They also suggested Thailand consider an electronic pre-approval system, similar to those used in Asia, to streamline entry processes.
