Lifeguards at Patong Beach rescued a Russian female tourist after she lost consciousness while swimming in Patong Bay, with the incident drawing immediate attention from nearby beachgoers. The woman was found floating face down in the water and was pulled to safety before receiving emergency treatment on the beach. Her condition was later reported to be stable following hospitalisation.

The incident occurred on 14 December at about 10:25 near a lifeguard post in Patong Bay. Other tourists noticed the woman unresponsive in the water and alerted lifeguards stationed nearby. The rapid call for help enabled lifeguards to respond without delay.

According to reports, lifeguards entered the water and brought the unconscious woman ashore. She showed no immediate signs of responsiveness when rescued. Lifeguards then began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the beach.

After CPR was administered, the woman’s had some vital signs returned. Emergency responders then arranged for her to be transported from the beach to Patong Hospital for further medical assessment. No details were released about the cause of her loss of consciousness.

Medical staff at Patong Hospital later confirmed that the tourist was in a safe and stable condition. Authorities did not report any additional injuries or complications. Her identity was not disclosed in official statements.

The rescue highlighted the role of lifeguards in monitoring swimming areas at Patong Beach, which is one of Phuket’s busiest tourist locations. The incident occurred close to a lifeguard centre, allowing for a quick response. Beach safety teams regularly patrol the area during peak hours.

There were no reports of dangerous sea conditions at the time of the incident. Officials did not issue any warnings or closures following the rescue. The beach remained open to the public.

Local authorities have not announced any further investigation into the incident. No additional updates on the tourist’s condition have been released beyond confirmation that she is safe. Lifeguards involved in the rescue returned to duty shortly after the incident.
