Boss Holloway taken to hospital

Holloway was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure

Plymouth Argyle boss Ian Holloway was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure ahead of their Championship match against Ipswich.

He was taken ill shortly before the game was due to begin.

Tim Breacker and Des Bulpin were placed in charge of the first team in place of the absent Holloway.

A statement on the club's website announced Holloway's illness but no further details were given about the condition of the 44-year-old.

I'm sure that I speak for many people, in wishing him a speedy recovery. Apart from being one of the most quotable managers around, he has done an excellent job at all the clubs he has been at. There are very few people who have his entusiasim for the game.

As well as that, he is a devoted family man and all round good guy who is genuinely respected by most football fans and anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him.

Hope it's nothing to serious and he's back at the helm shortly and giving those great interviews.
