Yeah, Stalin and Mao speech: " Today, [the State Department] will take steps to bar leading figures of the global censorship-industrial complex from entering the United States."

And how would it be Stalin or Mao?

We can do loads of tit for tats with the EU. They need us more than we need them. Its a dysfunctional, dying place anyway.

Geopolitically, we would be better off with Russia.

There you have it. A confession.

Commies , tankies , deviants and other malcontents all around. Where's the King of Angels when you need him ? Being born that's where. Come let's us adore him !!!

Same as the BBC in the UK, too many lefty news organizations broadcasting propaganda.

Russia and China should be our allies, and much less repressive than the current UK and EU governments.

Were you an avid listener, receiving your orders,  of Radio Moscow in the 1980s? Forget to renew your membership of CPGB?

Obviously you are spouting <deleted> when citing a country that sends you to the labour camps for googling about Tiananmen Square, or a country that locks up and murders the political opposition. You must be either Chinese, or a Communist, or both.

I think he's a bog standard common and garden Thailand deviant like many here. What pray brought you to the Land of Smile (SIC) there is only one now. BTW I know you have me on ignore but I did actually listen to Radio Moscow as a callow youth before my Trotskyist enlightenement whilst you were fighting the RA.

Its symbolic, but as far as I am concerned, the EU does not share our values on freedom and speech.

Neither does Trump.

Amazing, eh?

There was an implicit, almost dirty beauty to TVF that only a few ever truly noticed. It belonged to a moment in time now slipping away. Yet, in the brief drama of our lives, it once carried real substance. This ghost of it mirrors us our own fading presence, the slow dimming of our light.

You dont

You'd be surprised.

Honestly.  Every EU, UK, and Commonwealth "leader" promoting the censorship of their citizens as well as citizens world-wide, especially Americans, should be heavily sanctioned by the Trump Administration until they submit and guarantee that freedom of speech and expression is a human right which shall not be infringed by their Neo-totalitarian governments who jokingly refer to themselves as "Liberal Democracies."  Not anymore they aren't.

Went to China in 2019, nothing like suggested by western media.

The Chinese people were all running their own business and living in their own houses.

They all seem friendly and happy, and free unlike UK citizens.

Plenty of food and drink in all the shops and markets.

Privately owned food stall all over, just like Thailand.

No police around, no cameras watching me (unlike the UK).

Borrowed a bicycle, walked and cycled everywhere I wanted.

I'm going to assume Russia is just as nice.

Don't believe all you hear and see in western media!

The UK was well on its way to becoming a police state back in 2009 when I left.

There's some truth in what you say and if you live in Thailand wake up and smell the som tum. You are in no position to judge. But judge the keyboard warriors do whilst enjoying the fruits of dick-tatorship.

Why not simply declaring all US government officials persona non grata in the US and finally be rid of all of them?

As one of the US mouthpieces above said: the US is not sharing the European ideals of free speech and freedom in general, they are proto-fascist entity now (while the US is not even able to get dictatorship right, due to their dementia-ridden system of presidency). Why they are not ashamed is anybodies guess.

Close the door, take the pain of breaking off all trade and wait three years. My guess is, the US economy will have imploded by then, the US will break up into small statelets within the next decade, so finally good riddance.

What a joke! 🤣🤣🤣

There are CCTVs everywhere in China, and they are connected to a central database. Political opponents are quasi instantly identified and can be prevented from travelling thanks to this system!

Security forces are controlling data centers and social media are censored in real time. Try to send a message with democracy in it, or even Winnie the Poo! 🙂

Nothing at all where I was, small town ZhangJiaJie.

Would point out the UK police arrested 12,000 people last year for social media posts.

Usually with early morning raids by 2-6 police.

They also intend to stop jury trials.

Virtually every major cities are covered with CCTV cameras.  No country whatsoever has the moral high-ground regarding surveillance of their citizens.  They all do it.

UK is currently cancelling mayor and council elections.

A convenient war with Ukraine will give them the excuse to cancel the next government election.

I stopped voting in the late 1990s when Arthur Scargills socialist Labour party stopped fielding candidates.

Don't we both choose to live in Thailand where we have no vote?

Most of my acquaintances will no longer go to the UK for two reasons.  First, it's turned into a an over-priced, third-world s***hole, and second, the government has made Orwell's 1984 into a template for law enforcement.  The Trump Administration should sanction every leader, MP, and bureaucrat in the UK who supports the Online Safety Act which should be rebranded as the Online Censorship and Sanctions Act.  And for God's sake, don't stop in the street and dare to silently pray.  Or hold up a sign against genocide.  Being anti-genocide is now equated to an act of terrorism - because?  Well, these people just label anything they wish to ban as an act of terrorism, that way they can just completely do away with due process and jury trials.  Which of course is the exact type of thing the Soviets were doing decades back, and now the UK and other EU nations seems to have embraced while insisting they are a "Liberal Democracy."

Been to both places, China 2019 has much more freedom than the UK after around 2005.

When did you last visit China and the UK?
