January 1Jan 1 Landed back at LAX on Dec 31 from CNX. Took Korean Air from CNX-ICN-LAX. As expected the flight from CNX to ICN was almost full. Koreans love to visit CNX this time of the year. But the flight from ICN to LAX on the B747-8 was completely full in economy. That is over 300 in economy. I could clearly tell most of the passengers were either Korean or other foreigners and I was one of the few Americans on this flight. I thought America with a racist, facist dictator as president was no longer a travel destination. Anyway the 12 hour flight was not great and the food as expected was disappointing. I only booked this flight because it arrives at 0830. i do not like arrving at LAX at night. LAX to this day is surrounded by not such a great neighborhood.Upon arrival at LAX about 10 fellow passengers from this flight went to the US Citizen CBP entry point. It looked like CBP was testing out a contactless entry point for Americans. I got lucky and all I had to do was stand in front of a tablet and have my face verified. The process took 15 seconds and I was 'welcomed" back into the US. For Americans there was no wait to clear CBP. Meanwhile the entry point for foreigners was packed elbow to elbow. Didn't these people get the memo: "America no longer welcomes you" Maybe it still does? Maybe it's not so bad in America as some on youtube or mainstream media are saying? Of course the first place I went to after picking up my rental car was In N Out Burger. I expceted to pay more but it was $10 for a cheeseburger, fries and a coke. I Things did not look much different than it was from my last visit. Things have been as I have experienced in the past in my old neighborhood. Yes, many things cost more but this is expected. On that note Happy New Year from Los Angeles.
