A man riding a motorcycle was killed instantly after his bike stalled on a railway crossing and was struck by an oncoming train in Sikhio district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, on 31 December 2025. The collision occurred at around 13.00 and resulted in catastrophic injuries, with the victim pronounced dead at the scene.

Police from Sikhio station said they were alerted to a train–motorcycle collision at the level crossing near Ban Non Na, Lat Bua Khao subdistrict. Emergency responders from Hook 31 Korat, Sikhio point, attended the scene alongside officers, where they found a blue motorcycle overturned in grass beside the tracks, severely damaged and torn apart. The victim’s body was found nearby with extensive injuries and rescue workers recovered all the remains for transfer to Sikhio Hospital for examination.

Investigators identified the deceased as Mr Wuttisak Thunsungnoen, a resident of Sikhio district, Nakhon Ratchasima province. Local residents told police that the rider had attempted to cross the railway line when his motorcycle suddenly cut out while on the tracks. At that moment, a diesel rail express train was approaching, leaving the rider unable to move the motorcycle clear in time.

The train struck the motorcycle with a loud impact, according to witnesses, killing the rider instantly. The area around the crossing was secured while officers documented the scene and coordinated the recovery operation.

Police said the immediate response focused on evidence preservation and establishing the precise sequence of events. Officers plan to review nearby closed-circuit television footage and to take statements from the train driver as part of the inquiry. Matichon reported that the investigation will proceed in line with standard legal procedures, with findings to be compiled into an official case file.
