Did you spot the 2 wristwatches.... 🙃

Google-- This continuity error primarily occurs during the infamous Chariot Race. While Charlton Heston (who plays Judah Ben-Hur) wore leather braces up to his elbows that effectively covered his arms, sharp-eyed viewers have noted that an opponent and one of the trumpeters around the track appear to have something resembling a wristwatch on their wrists

Man, did you pick the right guy to reply to, I'm a sucker for this stuff!

When I was a kid I saw a movie about the Romans/Caesar and somebody was reading a newspaper, double-folded like the NY Times, my parents couldn't explain. I think there is an Alex Cox movie, set around 1900, that has a desktop computer visible. I didn't watch Game of Thrones but I've read there are a lot of Starbucks coffee cups to be seen.

Saw Ben Hur when I was a kid, then again in 2000 after Menace came out, maybe I should see it again.

Or maybe someone back then invented the wrist sundial. sleep

Worth a watch, good for daytime also, you know how you can't watch action movies daytime because always in the dark and the sun ruining the screen

I watched "Project Hail Mary" on Netfix and enjoyed it much more than expected. Huge plot holes and too much silliness, but worth watching.

Funboys

Two seasons of four short episodes.

Quirky gem from Northern Ireland about male friendship, etc.

A lot of sexual content but don't get the wrong idea -- not gay.

Has anyone heard about this movie: Citizen Vigilante? It has become controversial. The German government has effectively banned it by not giving it an age rating. As the title implies it is about a citizen who takes the law into his hands. As an American this is nothing new. Death Wish with Charles Bronson was a classic citizen vigilante movie back in the 1970's. I remember the NYC subway vigilante, Bernhard Goetz back in 1984. The newly minted trillionaire, Elon Musk, has made it available for streaming on his X/Twitter account. If any government tells it's citizens not to watch something it just makes them want to see it even more.

Low budget, Uwe Boll ultraviolet antimigrant exploitation film. Boll has been called the worst director ever and this movie won't improve his reputation

Just finished Widow's Bay, which a lot of critics are calling the best series of the year. It's about an island off the coast Massachusetts inhabited by a sinister spirit. It keeps getting better as it goes on, though it does end on a cliffhanger

Unwatchable, they seemed to not have a script or a plot.

Yes. In fact, I watched the whole thing. I had seen one of Boll's films before, one of the Rampage movies, I think, so I knew what to expect. What piqued my interest though was the high praise from Elon Musk, who has apparently even offered to fund a sequal. But this movie was so bad that even if you sympathized with the anti-immigrant message, it's almost comical to watch. Bad dialogue, hardly any plot, and Armie Hammer, who is the star doesn't just play a vigilante, he's almost like Batman. He's a rich business owner and although he's living in some unnamed European country, he somehow manages to acquire a huge arsenal. He appears on TV repeatedly but when the police finally manage to locate him, it turns out to be a trap and he kills them all. So he's not by any means a sympathetic figure. And Hammer plays him like a robot anyway. I don't know what Boll was really trying to accomplish here.

I watched a typical Guy Ritchie movie last night, called "Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" and it was a sort of a "Boys own" type movie (after the comic) and was supposedly loosely based on a true incident from WW11.

Enjoyable enough if you switched your brain off and were prepared to watch enjoyable nonsense.

The night before I also watched the original "Blade Runner", starring Harrison Ford amongst others and although I had seen it before, this time for some reason I was enthralled by the movie sets, which IMO were absolutely brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have just watched a movie, "Battle of Britain", which was made in 1969 and it was bloody fabulous, especially as I hadn't seen it before and there were real Spitfires and various other English and German aeroplanes in it, all doing their stuff!

The cast was full of well-known British actors, plus others, and I thoroughly enjoyed it and to be honest it made me proud to be British by birth and also latterly, Kiwi by adoption. Having said that, the film did include Polish, Czech and Canadian pilots, amongst a few others, and I can highly recommend it.

I streamed it from BBC iPlayer.

I have it on CD but some parts were cut to fit it in the CD.

Very accurate historical film and the fun part was the Polish pilots talking all the time to the ire of the British trainer.

Just rewatched Indian Summers, which had a two year run on Channel 4 (UK) in 2015-2016. It was shot almost entirely in Penang and mostly there in the Crag Hotel in a remote abandoned spot on Penang Hill.
