Looking for someones experience at Khon Kaen Immigration

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am going to KK Immigration next week to extend my Non-O retirement for the first time.

I am looking for someones recent experience at KK, the list of documents they gave me in the email is very short.

I live far away from Immigration and would like to wrap it up the same day. Other locations they talk about hand drawn maps, copies of neighbors ID with signature, and various hoops to jump through.

According to KK, I need a TM7, bank book update, bank letter, copy of passport. This seems light, but I could be wrong.

Anything else I will need?

Thanks for the help.

So you use 800k on account method? Which bank?

Bank book update must be same day. Letter from day before was always accepted.

For normal savings account you can deposit/withdraw small amount at a machine and update book.

At the office you will be handed the usual extra forms STM? (9, 11 forgot).

Acknowledge rules and learning fines for overstay etc. Pure formality.

What proof of address you have?

Passport copies of main page and all stamps.

Copies at the office 5 Baht 😁

You know their new location out in the sticks north of the city?

Just checked my folder from last October.
I had prepared STM2 and STM9.

If you have a printer and PC you can download, fill and print (otherwise just sit and fill by hand at the office).

Downloads:

https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/downloads_en/

Don't forget the PHOTO! for the TM47.

TM47 must be double-side (not two pages, in case you print).

STM2: THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS FOR PERMIT OF TEMPORARY STAY IN THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND (STM.2) [2025]

STM9: The Acknowledgement of penalties for visa overstay (STM.9) [2025]

That's related to the proof of address.

Can't help with that because I have "yellow book/pink card" since 2013 and that leaves no questions.

Before that I went with my Thai wife.

I have many copies of my SIL house book and ID, both signed by her. They were good enough for the COR i got in November, So I will use those again.

K-bank, I will go to the branch in Chumpae the day before. Stop at a bank on the way up that day for the bankbook update.

I went up there, crazy how far out of town it is. Not sure if they are planning something else in the area, the location is so random and weird. My nephew thought I was pranking him when we went up there.

Wife will be going with.

Hope I get the older civil servant, she was very helpful and nice to others last time.

Thanks for the reply, just making sure as requirements change over time.

I will post a detailed trip to Immigration after I am done to help anyone else do it themselves.

I will do a last attempt for my 90 day report tomorrow (online c.ap not work).

If I am not out before lunch break I will dump the BS and pay the fine sometime.

It was awfully packed in late December. Never seen such crowds in 14 years.

Not a bad idea at all. I know many people who never report and just pay the fine each year when they do their extension.

Seems to have no other consequences?

Probably the border runners getting a more reliable way to stay, since they are cracking down. It was pretty empty in the beginning of November.

Its OP very first extension. He won't be doing a TM47.

OP is this extension based on marriage or retirement.

My fault. Of course TM7 only with a photo.

Appreciate everyones time.

I am prefilling out the TM7 (which has to be double sided, not 2 separate pages, right?)

Some questions on the form: Written at? not sure what that is.

Under the passport line, it asks: Month, year, issued at. The previous line it asks the issued date already, and the issued at? not sure exactly what they are asking. I did it by mail and had it sent to my home in the states, is that the "Where"?

Type of Visa date, is that the date of my e-visa approval? Or when I arrived to use it?

TM6 number isn't used anymore, so that can remain blank I think.

The extension is for 365 days probably.

Thanks for the help.

Yes

All this is in photo page of pp.

PP has an issue date and expiry.

The " Where" Is also on that page.

For mine it's at top "issuing authority" in my case AUS.

Nothing to do with home address

Non O + approval date

Did you do a TDAC last entry?

Ignore that field.

Just put name of your immigration office. For date put date of application.

Today at KK immigration arrived about 9:15:AM. Was worth.

Not crowded like 26 Dec.

When leaving about 10 AM the parking had filled up a bit.

All 5 desks occupied.

Asked for TM30 and 90 day.

Had my wife sign the necessary copies and application for TM30.

To my surprise I was sent to the 90 report room which last time was not for me (Lao.. only).

Don't try to understand.

Less than 15 minutes there and done with new address report slip (TM30) and next 90 day due April 7.

Will try online March 24.

If reject I will use postal mail.

Side notes: again this female agent with a shoebox full of Lao passports. She is greeted with wai and walks straight in to the office boss room.

What documents you supply will depend if you're applying for an extension of stay based on Thai spouse or retirement.

It wasn't unanswered, it was in the first sentence, Dr Jack corrected himself right after reading it.

Double-checking as you stated 'going with wife', which is only required when applying based on Thai spouse.

Documents for Extension of stay permit based on retirement.

The following forms should be completed.

1. Form TM 7. Application for extension of temporary stay in the Kingdom.

2. Form STM 2. Acknowledgement of Criteria and Conditions for a temporary stay in the Kingdom.

3. Form STM 9. Acknowledgement of penalties for visa overstay.

4. Form STM 11. Consent form for fact checking and information verification approval for visa or change of visa type or extension of temporary stay in the Kingdom.

(Two page forms must be printed on both sides of a single A4 sheet).

Documents can be downloaded from here; https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/downloads_en/

5. Your passport

6. Copies of all pages of your passport with Thai stamps, including the data page

7. 1 x Passport photo's 4×6 cm.

8. Copy of TM30 receipt

9. Map pinpointing and detailing address

10, Proof of Address. (one of below 3 options)

Condo owners;

• Blue Tabien Baan (foreigners name will not appear in the book)

• Title Deeds (Chanote)

• Yellow Tabien Baan (if you possess one)

Rented

• Copy of signed owners/landlords Tabien Baan

• Copy of signed owners/landlords ID card

• Rental agreement

• If the owner/landlord is registered at a different address in another Tabien Baan, then a copy of that Tabien Baan + copy of Chanote for your address may be requested.

Privately owned

• Copy of signed Wife's/Owners Tabien Baan

• Copy of signed Wife's/Owners ID card

11. Proof of Finances; **

• If using the Funds, Income, or Combination method, update Passbook + copies of all relevant pages and obtain statements to cover the relevant period (12 months.)

Only for the very first extension application using the 800K funds method, then only a 2 month bank statement is required.
12. A bank certificate addressed to the Immigration Commissioner confirming: Account name, number, and balance issued by the bank is required. The balance on the letter should match the balance in the Passbook/Statement.

Additional Notes.

• Copies of documents, pages, or photos should be printed singularly on 1 A4 sheet.

• If rented, Copies of house owners Tabien Baan & ID card should be signed by the holder and include their telephone number.

• For the first extension application, Immigration may arrange a home visit where two Thai witnesses must also be present.

• Statements/Passbooks and bank letter must be dated the same day as the application.

Certain Immigration offices may allow them to be a few days old.

Embassy Income letters are valid for 6 months.

• Mark the location of your address on Google maps with the pin facility, then print it off. Manually write your address in a blank space in English and Thai if possible.

Some offices may require a hand drawn map. Include the latitude and longitude details.

• If using the monthly income method, Immigration may request proof of the source of your Income, such as a letter from your Pension provider, Investments, or shares.

They may additionally ask for proof of overseas transfers, such as credit advice receipts, Confirmation letter of International fund transfer, Wise receipt, or your foreign bank statement.

Transfers should be made around the same time each month. Irregular transfers may be refused as unacceptable. I recommend you highlight the monthly transfers as the Immigration officers are less than familiar with reading passbook/statement entries.

The onus is on you to supply any document requested. The above is a comprehensive list, although not every document listed may be requested by your individual IO.

The date spaces are sometimes spread over 2 lines. What you have is the date number space at the end of one line and then month and year spaces on the next line.

For the last 2 years, KK has also required bank statement even if doing the extension with 800K in the bank. The statement costs 200 Baht from Kasikorn bank.
