Nor do you identify the media you look at which has shaped your opinions.I can give you mine, I subscribe to the New York Times. But online I read The Guardian and New Republic. Occasionally al-Jazeera or even Russia Today. I subscribe to Ha'aretz and read +972. For philosophy, I like The Marginalian. For environmental news, I read The Narwhal. Social media, I don't follow anybody, sounds like stalking to me. I very, very occasionally read Quora. Only Facebook when someone, usually a business, has a FB page.Okay, I've shown you mine. Now show me yours.

A small minority are descendants of families with long-standing historical roots in the area.

January 12Jan 12 The Sikh religion literally had it's land PUNJAB split in two after partition by the British. Meant half their people got stuck in Pakistan and had to make a torturous journey to India side, losing their land and everything. Millions died during this process and no help at all to administer this process.Means half their religious sites are in Pakistan, that was once Punjab of India, including sites of and temples of the gurus. Only now have Pakistan allowed entry to Sikhs to visit these areas, thanks to Imran Khan. Then in 1984, the india government raided and almost destroyed the most holiest place in the Sikh religion. Then after the PM died at the hands of Sikh bodyguards because of what she did, there was a masacare of Sikh people around Delhi and beyond. They are the most perscuted religion of people.

I had neglected the atrocities of Partition. The Sikhs are right up there in persecution. This causes me to think what we mean by persecution. For example, US & Canadian First Nations, tribals in South Africa and lots more examples.

Same with China. You have countries now too powerful to ignore them. There is alot of NGO's who get money through the UN which i have never liked, and leaves them open to accusations. An NGO is an organisation on the ground that does charity work - but not all them are 'perfect' as we know.

That you will not disclose you media gives mev pause about your motives.

An NGO is an organisation on the ground that does charity work - but not all them are 'perfect' as we know. You're right, Don, but in my heart, I want it to work. The UN is certainly imperfect, maybe even conpletely ineffective with the big boys running the show.Personally, I've had very good luck with a lifetime of NGOs. Too many people worry about the source of the money, e.g., US State Dept, George Soros. The source doesn't matter as long as the NGO fulfills its mandate and its mission. Then they get re-funded next round...or not.The accusers have nothing better to do. Unless they're insider whistleblowers, they don't know. It's all speculation or to make a name for themselves. IOW, they haven't taken any personal risk; that's what it takes to make accusations stick.
