Applying for multi entry Thai tourist visa

Featured Replies

A few weeks ago I started a thread about whether to get a multi entry visa or go visa exempt. I went as far as starting a visa application on the Royal Thai Embassy London website and saved what I started as I didn't have all the data I needed. I am trying to retrieve the started application but I am damned if I can see where I retrieve the application or even start a new one.

So on the Embassy web site I select Visa - Visa info - E Visa - Single Multiple entry

But where do I retrieve the saved application or start a new application. What am I missing?

Yes I recognise that page now. I wonder why the UK Embassy site doesn't direct you to this one. I should be ok now, thanks.

What does this mean exactly "Financial evidence: an amount of no less than 20,000 THB (e.g., bank statements for the last three months,". Does that mean if there is any period where the balance is less than £500 the application will be refused. I run two accounts. At times either one of them is likely to be less than £500 for a period of time depending if I get hit with any large bills. The two together should balance out the other. The monthly deposits well exceed 20,000 baht. Wouldn't we all like accounts where money went in but never out with bills to pay.

Also I can only add one travel itinerary. So my flight in and out are likely to be on Eva 90 days apart. Now I may apply for a 30 day extension but I was expecting to do some other side trips but going to leave that until I arrived. I can book a cheap flight out for the 60th day to keep Immigration happy then take a photo of the two bookings side by side for submission. I hope that satisfies Immigration.

That doesn't work. Only one file can be uploaded. They want 3 months worth of bank statements so each month is a separate file. How do you submit 3 months worth of statements?

You use a tool to merge them all into a single file.

Yes I see that now. I didn't realise you could do that.

I used the ’Split PDF’ tool on the linked website for dividing my flight ticket into two separate pages/files and also merging all the pages of my bank statement into one: https://www.ilovepdf.com/

Not sure if London, or whoever processes the e Visa website applications, are really interested in 3 months of statements. I say this because I applied for and entered in October on a 90 day single entry O Visa based on retirement where the requirement was also 3 months showing £19,000.

Not wanting to lose 3 months interest on this amount I emailed them to ask if it was just one month as it used to be. They never replied but I gambled and applied with just one statement showing a balance of £20,000 for just 5 days at the end of the statement. My application was accepted. Thankfully there seems to be some Thai staff with half a brain processing applications abroad who realize how unreasonable this requirement is. It also means planning travel 3 months ahead to keep that kind of money in one's current account. If you apply within 3 months of travel you're not going to be able to show 3 months statements unless you're an idiot who does keep £20,000 in your current account earning bugger all interest!

Maybe I was just lucky.

What complete utter pain in the rear end it is applying for a visa. Right I can merge the individual bank statement PDFs into a single PDF but the size of the file exceeds the size limit. It says submit jpg or pdf not zip file. If I convert the pdf to a jpg is it likely to be smaller?

@ Sunset , the wording of the requirements is slightly vague and confusing, but I think they are trying to say that the 3 month requirement is for the monthly income method , not the 800 k Bt total method. I did the same as you , only had about 1 - 2 months to show the 800 k but that was accepted.

There are loads of sites where you can compress the pdf file, probably the same place as where you merged it in the first place.
