A factory shuttle bus carrying workers overturned onto its side, after sliding off the roadside in Chonburi province on the morning of 15 January 2026, leaving 42 people injured, including one woman trapped inside the vehicle. Emergency services responded swiftly, providing on-site treatment before transferring the injured to hospitals in Si Racha district.

The crash occurred at about 08:30 on Road 331, near Pinthong Industrial Estate 3, in Moo 4, Nong Kham subdistrict, Si Racha district. The bus, registered in Bangkok, was travelling towards Laem Chabang when it lost control and overturned down an embankment.

Rescue teams from the Piew Yieng Tai Si Racha Foundation, along with officers from Nong Kham Police Station, attended the scene after receiving an emergency call. Among the injured were 26 men and 16 women, making a total of 42 casualties, with one woman found trapped inside the wreckage.

Rescuers used hydraulic cutting and spreading equipment for more than 15 minutes to free the trapped passenger. Many of the injured suffered head wounds and bruising to various parts of the body. All passengers were identified as Myanmar nationals employed by a company located within the Pinthong Industrial Estate.

Initial first aid was administered at the scene before all injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals in Si Racha for further medical treatment. Police and rescue officials coordinated traffic control and ensured the safe evacuation of those involved.

Pol Col Khomkrit Manjit, superintendent of Nong Kham Police Station, oversaw the response and confirmed that more than 30 rescue personnel took part in the operation. Officers documented the scene and collected photographic evidence as part of the investigation.

The driver, Mr Thiwat, aged 32, told police he had been driving at around 30–40 kilometres per hour due to the size and weight of the bus. He said that while descending the Ta Baek hill section, initially travelling in fifth gear and attempted to downshift to second gear while approaching two stopped container trucks ahead.

He said he unable to slow in time and then tried to steer left and maintain control, aiming to minimise any impact, but the bus rolled off the road and overturned at the crash site. He apologised to the injured workers and the bus owner for the incident.

Khoasod reported that police have confirmed that a full investigation will follow, with legal proceedings to be carried out in accordance with standard procedures after all evidence has been reviewed.

There's the problem.

Over 25/kmh needs to be in hyperdrive.

Sadly, it is too common occurrence for worker's transport to crash. Generally, migrant workers.
