A shout out to Krungsri bank

Featured Replies

Just to say I made a complaint in an e-mail to them, without having to sign in, about an ATM machine that kept going off line, during usage, well 10 days later and they have fitted a new one......thumbsup

I hope that you're not tempting fate with that comment!🫰

I understand that the main reason for certain ATM's (particularly those in remote locations) not coughing up any of the cash you've requested of them is due to dodgy internet connections.

Yes that appears to be true, but when that happens normally ALL ATMs don't work, but this particular one had been shutting down, when the one next to it, from a different bank, is still working, and other Krungsri a few klm. away work fine.. It's not just about getting cash, I transfer money to other bank accounts sometimes using the ATM, and Krungsri ATMs are the only ones that you can do that with.

i recently saw a vid on utube where a guy said that krungsri bank had told him there was a daily maximum of 50,000 baht in total that could leave the account by any means. I personally think he was confused

Another utube clip today , this time from "integrity legal" who are not the usual purveyors of gossip and fear mongering,

You are joking yes? That guy loves only his own voice, and has been scaremongering for years

I haven't seen that many of his Vids and most of the subjects he covers don't particularly interest me , but the few I have seen never gave me that impression, Sure he likes the sound of his own voice, they all do , but at least he's not pushing his services on on anybody and I've never heard him give out any bad advice , Unlike some I have seen on there

The other day I got a message from Krungsri telling me my daily transaction limit had changed, without me asking for it, so I got on to my phone and checked. I now had a daily limit of 1 million baht ! Whoa...don't need anything near that amount so I changed it in their app back down to 100,000/day. 2 days later I got another message telling me my limit had changed. This time it had been reduced to 50.000baht per day ! that is now the maximum that can be set via their app.

This / Him is just an add for his company, so you use his 'services'. Apart from that I personally don't need to withdraw more than 30k a day, 50k by "ANYOTHER" means is absolute BS, if I go into my bank I can withdraw ALL my money out. .........

But as I said above you can still go to your bank and withdraw any amount of your money if you want.

Hopefully special arrangements can be made for the occasional expensive purchase if not buying a new car or god forbid a condo could be fun lol

Well admittedly the name of the company is briefly mentioned at the beginning, but he's not exactly advertising his services, not with this article anyway, but he is without doubt actively maintaining an internet presence

As to whether you can walk into your bank and withdraw All your money out , I wouldn't be so sure about that, I mean depending on how much you are worth, you might have to give them a bit of notice so they have time to stock up on all the readies they'll need, plus a bit of time to count it too.

I don't think I'd have to give them notice then, cheesy IMO I think 5 million would be ok, I see people paying in money all day.

I think at present though one can pretty much withdraw as much as one wants without issue, (other than a possible bit of Queuing) which is how it should be

I don't know where you come from but I don't think that is the case in the UK anymore, questions are now asked and proof required for relatively small amounts of cash I saw a report of a guy getting the treatment from Santander over a requested cash withdrawal of just £2000 She asked what it was for and he replied " a motorcycle" she then asked for details and he told her he intended to look around until he found one he liked in that price range. He was told to come back when he'd found one.

We should enjoy the little extra freedoms we here while they last , sadly I see things are changing

I wonder if he went back and said he'd found one........showed them a photo of one outside...giggle or one for sale on social media, how do you prove you found one ?????

God knows, a photo or a reg no might suffice, its just wrong that they have to ask none of their business really

Insert off topic emoji, This is about a Thai bank not another country.......

Well it was either an attempt at a thread about a Thai bank, or an attempt at a thread about somebody who registered a complaint whatever , its died a death , my off topic comments were the only ones you were getting , I'll leave you to it ,

A mate of mine was told in the last couple of weeks at a Kasikorn branch that the maximum cash withdrawal per day was now 1.5m baht....(and yes I know this is a Krungsri thread before someone mentions it...)

And what if you don't want cash but want to pay somebody ?

Screenshot 2026-01-24 230158.jpg

but not so irrelevant...Krungsri and kasikorn have both closed their branches in my town, so to make a transaction over their daily limit at the branch, as you (brian69) suggested, means nearly an hour's drive into Ubon, during banking hours only.

That would be the same for me, but at least I can transfer the daily limit using one of Krungsri's ATMs

This amount on K-Bank app depends on how much money you have on the bank. But this limit can be much higher if you have more money on the bank.

Withdrawing cash - nothing to do with the app and apparently nothing to do with any individual variances.

Sorry, I not read it clear that's about cash.. not about transfers......

Yep, only Thai banks are to be ruthlessly subject to criticism on here. Comments about other countries' banks should be confined to praising them to the very highest heavens as being the very best thing in banking since sliced bread, solely on the grounds that they aren't Thai!

  • 1 month later...

I have a Two week old Krungsri debit Visa card and I tried to buy 2 Kindle books off Amazon last night and it wouldn't let the purchase go through .

Rung Krungsri up a few minutes ago and they told me that the card had been suspended due to fraudulent activity.

I told him that it was the second time they had done this in a month , and funnily enough it happened to my first card after I had tried to use it on Amazon Kindle.
He couldn't tell me what the activity was , all he would say was " that the new card will be free " .
I told him it is the inconvenience of having to make another 100 plus kilometre round trip to get another new card .
Can't the system handle 500 baht leavibg the country ?
