Thailand has received an invitation from Donald Trump, President of the United States, to participate in a new peace initiative aimed at resolving the Gaza conflict. The invitation proposes Thailand's involvement in the establishment of a "Board of Peace," part of a broader Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. However, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that they are currently studying the details and have not yet accepted.

This invitation is part of the US's efforts to build an international coalition to address ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The initiative aims to promote sustainable peace and enhance humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians. Thailand has expressed support for any efforts to foster lasting peace in the region, aligning with its foreign policy that emphasises humanitarian work and adherence to international law.

Thailand remains committed to supporting a two-state solution where Israel and Palestine coexist peacefully and securely. This commitment is grounded in international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. Thai officials will further examine the initiative to ensure it aligns with these principles and garners support from regional countries.

Experts believe that engaging diverse international players like Thailand could bring new perspectives to peace efforts in Gaza. They note, however, that such initiatives need coherent support from countries within the region for successful implementation. The decision by Thailand to join will likely depend on its alignment with the regional and international community's goals for lasting peace.

Thailand remains focused on a humanitarian approach to Middle East conflicts as it reviews the proposal. Any involvement in the Board of Peace will seek to support a viable and comprehensive resolution benefitting all parties involved, particularly Palestinians, reported Amarin TV.

Key Takeaways

  • Thailand is considering an invitation to join a US-led Gaza peace initiative.

  • The Thai Foreign Ministry is currently reviewing the proposal.

  • Thailand's support for a two-state solution in the Middle East aligns with the initiative.

I think Thailand is aware that it cost 1 bn US$ to participate... But more important is that it will be time to get an impeachment procedure for Trump, as he is acting more and more crazy by the day and a danger for the world peace....Although he want to show he good intentions for Gaza

Seems like participation in this “peace board” is being touted around to anyone who is prepared to pay 1 billion dollars for entry.

Presumably the reason why a country might want to pay the joining fee is because they might take back in more money via awards of building contracts, supply contracts and the like. And where does the 1 billion dollars go I wonder?

Sounds like a scam. But I might be wrong, could be it’s just blatant corruption.

He should invite Thailand and China to join Nato. Cost 10 trillion

The only countries that will sign up and pay the $1 billion will be China and Russia.

Should avoid this totally. In Australia it will be political suicide if we take part. This is for Trumps ego only. Other countries pay and he gets to pretend he’s leading the world. He’s Americas problem. They can fund and assist in his folly!

Why do you think China would want to have anything to do with the grifter in chief?

Russia I agree, since it is only a small reward for all the favours they get in return.

In Trump's mind (what little of it there is) he sees the world as 3 spheres of influence. Set up an idiotic organization to run everything. Of course China would join

Just Trumps latest scam under instructions from his Paymaster Vlad Putin. Destabilise The United Nations by starting a competing Organisation of like minded Countries under the stewardship of the Trump family. Lifetime Chairman position for Donald with full financial controls and full Veto power, with lifetime Board memberships for Kushner, Steve Witkoff, Marco Rubio and Tony Blair

Aimed at overseeing the postwar reconstruction, governance, and economic recovery of the Gaza Strip following the Gaza War and performing a similar duty following any other Worldwide confrontation, ( Ukraine comes to mind ). Goodbye United Nations. Trump proposed the U.S. assuming "ownership" of Gaza post-ceasefire, relocating its roughly 2 million Palestinian residents (potentially permanently, with no right of return), and redeveloping it into the "Riviera of the Middle East"—a high-end international resort area with jobs, housing, and urban regeneration. All under the complete control of Donald Trump

The boorish dolt puts Thailand on its 75 banned visa countries and then sends an invite. He has no shame. He sends the US Navy to Venezuela, kidnaps their dictator, steals their oil and has the proceeds sent to his account in the middle east, bombs Syria, bombs Iran, threatens to invade Greenland, sells out Ukraine and NATO, and wants to lead a global board of peace where he personally charges those who want to join $1 billion. Why? All to assauge his pussy ego and then he thinks he can co-opt the Nobel Peace Prize and give it to himself.

I have been am expat for 30+years and it's sad to see my taxes paid to that Bloviate ass's administration. As usual the British (excluding his boorish UK Putin buddy) sum it up best.

Don’t assume trump has any idea of what’s involved in any plans, he just does what he’s told by Netanyahu. He wants more parties involved so that when it turns into a clusterphuk, and it will, he can blame others for its failure. Straight out of trump playbook 101.

The king of BS is at it again.

With his deteriorating mental and physical capabilities hopefully he won't be around much longer and they remove him from office before he does more harm around the world. True egotistical, narcissistic nut job that needs to go and sooner rather than later.

Trump is trying to start up a rival to the UN, just like he started truth social as a rival to twitter.

Any country that has anything to do with this is nuts. Let’s just ignore USA and the rest of the world get on with day to day life.

Canada has already made up the trade it lost to the USA because of tariffs, by trading more with China. Let’s just do that.

So China does things different to the west and some of the things we don’t like. There’s a whole lot more not to like about USA these days, so I say let em go off and enjoy life with their neurotic President and the rest of us will do our own thing.

If there is something that the USA does that European countries need, intelligence gathering for instance, then now is a good time to develop Europe’s own capability so that the continent won’t be susceptible to blackmail in the future.

Yes, and he still has the nerve to investigate and charge democrat senators for corruption, when this topic right here is corruption 101, all in the open.

Mind boggling it is, he is a complete train wreck.

Every rational nation should shun Trump at every turn, and make every effort to just say no to the circus clown.

And the likelihood of Don being sincere about promoting peace in Gaza seems about par with the likelihood of him being sincere about promoting peace in Ukraine, while paying a great deal of fealty to King Vlad.

How did for instance Norway contribute to its destruction? They would get their "membership" for free then.. And yes, our prime minister was also invited 😆

Otherwise, I agree. Also let, I mean make, Russia pay for the complete destruction of cities and villages in Ukraine.

All this money from other countries he will put in his own pockets.
