Millions retire each year. What are the best hobbies for them to do ? Surely there are 5 or 6 things better than mopping floors.

AI is just googling stuff.

Not really. If you learn the intricacies of it, you can be very productive.

AI is just googling stuff - that's for us novices.

I've been growing my own cannabis. It's more difficult than I imagined, and I've only once in two years grown something exceptional, but it's a fun project.

Even if the plant doesn't turn out well, I like watching the reactions of Thais who come by and happen to see one growing in a pot. You can learn a lot about a person in watching how they react. A straight-laced Muslim woman in a hijab seemed very approving and familiar with it, for example.

For me, a few, and nothing intense of late ...

... cooking whole foods, makes everything better in life

... some physical activity, exercise, for mobility and weight control

... photography has been dominate lately, includes 'birding', critters land & city scape

... drones, although demonizes lately and over regulated

... getting O&A, whether simply exploring locally, or a bit further. Keeps #2, 3 & 4 interesting also, fighting boredom of being in same area. Only so much going on within 10 sq kms, one's '15 minute city'

Not for everyone, but MC & cruising around, cycling, scuba, and other thrill seeking things, though we don't bounce as well as we use to.

BE SAFE, stay active, physically & mentally

Can't think of much that is more boring than riding a push bike. Gave that up around 16 years old.

Four wheel driving? In Thailand....good luck with that.

Chess, maybe, but that would usually mean playing with another farang. None I know of in the wife's village.

Muay Thai. Be realistic. How many retirees are ever going to be a competent in Muay Thai?

Being productive or increasing productivity was a term used by the bosses during your working life to make them more money while paying you the same. And most of us fell for it. Sadly.

I don't really need a hobby to keep me satisfied.

I have things I need to do, but now I'm retired I can do them in my own time. When I decide to.

And I have plenty to do.

And enjoying it.

4wding is great fun. Thai roads are the best fun.

You do know what four wheel driving is?

Try driving from Mataranka to Nhulunbuy.

Or Cooktown to the Cape on the old electricity track.

Don't need a 4wd for that.

Unless you are a poser.

Try driving to Mayton on the Palmer river and pan for gold.

Not super rough but definitely need a four wheel drive. And a few Jerry cans of fuel. Fill up at the servo at Laura and go bush

Most utes in Thailand are two wheel drive. Rare to see a four wheel drive.

The wife gets around in a Toyota Yaris without any problems

I think you may be out of your depth discussing driving and cars in Thailand.

Poor troll.

Open your eyes and look.

Can you tell the difference between a 4wd and a 2wd.

Do you even know the difference?

If you say one has two wheels and other has four I think I'll vomit.

Toyotas and Mitsubs are 4wd.
