In Thailand go to get your blood checked at least annually, it doesn't cost much, i go to Lifecare lab in Pattaya get their package 4 for 700 baht and add hba1c for blood sugar 350 baht

Also get your wife and girlfriend checked, they get diabetes at lower body mass so a big surprise.

You can reverse it, so the sooner you know the better

I'm amazed that MORE people aren't diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes! I suppose it's a condition that many ignore. We can't drink a can of soda a day and expect to be healthy. Just that one can a day equals over TWO KILO of sugar a month! Just from the soda alone... American people get on average 2 kilo of sugar a month from their processed foods. Add that to the sugar from drinking soda, and that adds up to a LOT of sugar, and a LOT of people who are pre-diabetic!

If you moved about every day then it would probably work off the calories, it's not just soda it's the combination of daily junk

I don't think 'calories' are the real problem.

Frequent sugar spikes can make cells less responsive to insulin. Over time, this will lead to type 2 diabetes. Blood sugar swings can affect mood, focus, and anxiety. High sugar diets are associated with increased risk of depression and promote chronic inflammation. It can damage proteins via glycation, Put it all together, and you can define sugar with one word... 'poison.'

excess calories will eventually cause fat to block the insulin receptors, the keto lot are obsessed with solely blaming sugar, sad

We blame everything that is unhealthy, food-wise.

We don’t discriminate. 😇

And do you see skinny people drinking diet pops and low fat products ?

Eat real whole food not try to think you beating the system by cheating!

Eat and drink whatever you like, exercise more!

Avoiding diabetes is simply too easy, especially if you're overweight, as that's one sign that hard to miss. Plus all those little aches & pains, that 'inflammation' caused by too much crap / sugar. All carbs are sugar, so choose wisely, which and how much to eat at a time.

Yearly HbAic tells your where you stand. Mines been as high as 6.3, and now 5.3, last time checked.

Credit the high # to pastry / bread, potatoes & pasta, since not a fan of rice.

Credit the low # to cutting way back on pastry / bread, potatoes & pasta.

By now, eating should be common sense, whole foods, as much as possible. Read the labels of processed foods. Avoid junk & ultra processed.

If you can do it, stop eating things that have labels ... coffee1

Yep! As I said... sugar.

Makes little difference how it starts. A potato. Bread. Rice. Noodles. Or an apple.

The carbs all convert to sugar in the body.

I eat lots of carbs amongst other things, works good, i have self control so don't get fat and unhealthy
