Those teachers of the 90's

Featured Replies

I felt a bit sad ... I watch a lot of YouTube nowadays, very rarely any TV

I watch a lot of South East Asian type YouTube video. Thailand Philippines etc

I watch also those "audit " videos eg DJ audits etc , but we are NOT talking about thanks !

Now getting back to my post before I was rudely interrupted

is I was sad to watch a beautiful man who is now in his 50's penniless from the UK who came to Thailand in the 90's early 2000's and worked as a school teacher in Bangkok for what he says back then low monthly Thai baht

He had a great life he said but no retirement funds

He said he should of gone back when Stickman went back to New Zealand

He has now saw ex farang teachers in their 50's 60's begging in Bangkok !!!!

I'm trying to message him to thank him for his service in the past

I want to tell him despite him having no money he has had a great life far better than ours ,and much better than many of you !

He was in Bangkok teaching in the 9o's what a awesome period

I'm sad because these people contributed to Thailand or Cambodia or wherever they taught in South East Asia during the 90's and 2000's and now face a financial predicament at their age but what a great life he he / they have had

I have sent him a donation actually 12 cups of coffee they call it on YouTube

.thankyou to you guys who were teachers in South East Asia in the 90's

I am a little sad today to watch that though ,being forced to go back to the UK after 30 years away

Oh the 1980s ....oh the 1990's

More of the same, just the usual negativity focussing on hard luck stories and people who failed to make it.

" I want to tell him despite having no money he has had a great life far better than ours, and much better than many of you ! "

There you go again the whole point of your post, the jealousy shining through with an unnecessary jibe towards those successfully enjoying life in Thailand.

If he's been here since his 20's there's a good chance he's got no state pension entitlement either.

Always one ...always one isn't there

I'm a VIP I don't need your approval

Most of these cases of people left peniless at retirement with no state legislation and compulsory pensions in western nations (USA or UK) that spend trillions on their military. (and please, it's not again Trump's fault).

I wouldn't piss on them much less buy a cup of coffee.

Should have got a real job and can, in later life, enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Your donation would have been more meaningful had you done it anonymously, rather than feeling compelled to 'mention' it here on a forum.

Teaching in high school or below is a fool's errand these days as too much BS with the regulations. If you really want to teach now, then tertiary education is what you should be doing now and that's where it's at, as you only have to deal with the institution, the work permit office, and not the nonsense that goes with high school as you are dealing with minors and Khurusapha's BS.

That's a bit like saying that you read a lot of books nowadays, without any particular subject matter.

Oh yes, and it is should HAVE gone back................

In your head you are a VIP, to the rest of us, a WST, waste of space & time.
