You can believe what you want. if you wish to believe I never went there in my over 28 years in Thailand, it´s up to you. Doesn´t bother me.

I doubt you've left the village in the last 27 years. 😂

Did you notice this? Looks to me the rider did all he could to make understand. Just some cheap tourist pack again. Shame!

Never have issue with the WIN drivers, taxi drivers are often dodgy. Generally one needs to set the price before the journey starts, and pay agreed at the end of it. Works both ways though.. drivers s

You’re trying to place fault on the rider when the story is quite clear that the price was ‘priced’ by the App.

Perhaps he pulled the "sorry, I not have change" scam. So they went low ball, rather than giving him a donation. After all, it's not their problem he has no change. I don't know, I wasn't there, but then again, either were you.

Very possible - though that was not covered in the opening report...

I'd never have 62 baht in exact change.... I'd give 80 (if I had the small notes) or likely 100 baht and say thanks for allowing us to 'double up'...

Its about attitude... You are right, though, neither of us were there - but we have three people arguing over 62 baht vs 40 baht - if you are on the 'customer' side of this argument - you are a tool whatever the reputation that proceeds the Win / MC taxi's..

Additionally, I’ve been to Phuket loads of times & I have no idea what I paid for taxis & tuktuks - it’s just not the sort of thing ppl remember & you’re trying to shoehorn an argument out of thin air.

The last time I was there it was 200 baht just to get into a tutuk. The price went up from there. No a/c, no seat belts, just a short ride in the back of a utitlty on a bench seat, like a baht bus in Pattaya, but 200 baht.

If you have been to Phuket many times, I'm surprised you are unaware of the transport mafia there. There's been many news reports of the tuktuk drivers assaulting passengers because the passenger resists the scam. Things like changing the price at the end of the journey etc.

I see it all the time... I'm well aware of such scams all over Phuket that target foreigners.

Its the same with the JetSki's etc... its the same with the Police specifically targetting foreigners and trying to catch them out without a license...

If I were forced to generalise - The TukTuk drivers and MC riders are scummy characters - but you don't have to 'allow' confrontation - its easy enough to deal with such characters, directly and effectively and in an affable manner... There will be problems, they can be dealt without escalation too - TukTuk wants 350 baht instead of 300 baht because there were 7 people crammed into the TukTuk instead of 5 and the location was little further down the soi than was initially explained... Big deal - let him have.

I found InDrive to work better for taxis than Grab & Bolt.

I'll check it it.

Especially for Taxi's to the Airport (from hotels etc) - InDrive - I don't find it useful anywhere else in Thailand - and my info is a year old - but InDrive was the better option last year.

In and around the touristy area's not travelling far - Grab calling for TukTuks works well if not on a busy strip.

I am sorry, I must ask you. Do you have severe problems? Let it go, and don´t care about me no more. Right now, you are acting like a small little blob in the face. Very persistent, and won´t go away.
