South Korean Women Caught Stealing Swimwear in Phuket

Two South Korean women were caught on CCTV stealing swimwear from a shop in Phuket, Thailand, on February 9. The incident occurred at Plaifah Beachwear, where the women pretended to be customers trying on swimsuits before committing the theft and fleeing. The shop has since released the footage, asking for public assistance to identify the suspects.

Initially, the two women entered the store around 12.28 am, behaving like regular shoppers asking about prices and trying on different swimwear items. After departing without a purchase due to the high prices, they returned 30 minutes later. During their second visit, one woman occupied the staff in a fitting room while the other discreetly stole swimwear items under a table.

The staff later discovered the theft upon reviewing CCTV footage after noticing missing items. The shop's swimwear, imported from Colombia, is notably more expensive than local products, which might have led to the theft. The employee noted that during their initial visit, the suspects saw where stock was kept, potentially making the act easier during their return.

The shop owner filed a police report and shared the footage publicly to warn other business operators and gather information on the suspects. The owner suspects that the women might have engaged in similar thefts elsewhere, indicating this might not be their first offense. The public is encouraged to provide information to the shop at 065-017-7050 if they recognize the individuals, reported The Thaiger.
