According to Provincial Police Region Yala, insurgents carried out coordinated bomb attacks at seven locations in Narathiwat during the two-day period. In response, heightened security measures have been implemented across Yala to maintain order in the southern border provinces. The move aims to deter any potential spillover incidents and reassure the public.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Kong-at Suwannakham, commander of Yala Provincial Police, issued urgent orders to officers stationed at all checkpoints and inspection points to intensify screening of suspicious individuals and vehicles. Security personnel have also been instructed to exercise heightened caution while on duty to avoid becoming targets. Residents and travellers are now subject to increased checks as part of these enhanced measures.

Authorities stated that the stepped-up security is intended to boost public confidence ahead of the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations. The measures are designed to ensure the safety of Thai-Chinese residents participating in festivities. Officials are also preparing for the approaching Ramadan period to facilitate and safeguard Thai Muslim communities as they enter the holy month.

Khoasod reported that the security posture is expected to remain elevated in the coming days as authorities continue monitoring the situation. Checkpoints and patrols will stay in place while officials assess any further threats. Law enforcement agencies have indicated they will adjust measures as necessary to maintain stability across the region.
