February 21Feb 21 Frankly I don't even know why I'm responding to this post but Sensodyne multiCare or Sensodyne gum care is by far the best toothpaste I've ever used. Colgate almost tastes like dessert for me, it has way too much sugar and gum agent in it, I don't like the taste, the sweetness, nor the texture.

I literally scraped some plaque off my teeth with a toothpick, so it seems to be doing sth.I don't use hydrogen peroxide, I was replying to a guy who does use it by making his own toothpaste and so I listed why it was not a good idea to use it.
February 23Feb 23 Colgate Total Active Protection seems to be very good at stopping teeth staining, using another Colgate type my teeth used to stain

Put it in the grain silos to kill rats. Of course, people got some, too.Water fluoridation, which, thank goodness, we don't have here, was adopted in some areas after a concerted lobby by industry and bought-off dentists.Use in children leads to fluorosis--skeletal & tooth weakening, bone pain, fractures-- cognitive issues, thyroid dysfunction, and neurological problems. (Yale school of Public Health).I think ingestion of fluoride is harmful. But I do a dental fluoride treatment at the dentist every year. Couple of decades since I had a cavity. My family always used tooth powder when I was a kid. Use Spinbrush.Ah yes — the classic story where thousands of dentists, doctors, universities, and public-health scientists across the world secretly unite for 70 years to push industrial rat poison… yet somehow forget to make money from people having fewer cavities.😀Fluoride isn’t added because it’s a “waste product”; it’s used because small controlled doses strengthen enamel, which is why tooth decay dropped by about 60–70% since fluoride toothpaste became common in the 1950s. Toxicity depends on dose — water, oxygen, and paracetamol are also dangerous in the wrong amounts. If fluoride were really causing widespread bone damage and cognitive problems, dentists would be the first people out of business. Instead, they keep recommending it — and oddly enough, cavities keep disappearing. But I do admire the compromise position: fluoride is apparently dangerous every day… except when a dentist applies it personally once a year. 😄

TH doesn't fluoridate the drinking water, so no issues there.Up North, may have a natural fluoride problem, and good to have a T .. D .. S pen. It won't detect fluoride, be let you how bad the water is. Why I buy the RO jugs locally.Dental fluorisis is a VERY GOOD THING....This is how:... many in China can NOT brush teeth and still have excellent teeth. The fluorosis will protect teeth from decay.Of course, brown teeth might be a problem to some, but not to me, as long as the teeth are strong.I fondly recall reading about this phenomenon is some dental journals before the age of AI and Google search. This finding is based on observations in China.
February 23Feb 23 I find this topic fascinating from a fluoride perspective, and so much so that I am now on the Colgate Thailand website. What I see is that the maximum fluoride concentration is: 1450 PPMI just looked on the Colgate tube, just the cheapest that I often see at Top's or some place. And I see that the minuscule size of the printing says: Active Fluoride Ion 1450 ppmSo, why should I pay more for paste which is the same as this cheap stuff? But, when I say cheap, I really mean that toothpaste is expensive and overpriced everywhere.Same goes for the toothbrushes. Why is this stuff so expensive?Maybe price fixing or something?I think I will look for a different higher-concentration toothpaste, also from Colgate, and which is available in Thailand.According to Gemini, which I always trust:So what is the sweet spot?Is 1450 just as good as a higher concentration for daily use, or twice-daily use, actually.Or, should I be using a paste with a concentration of 2800, such as Colgate Duraphat, which is available here, I think...I like this Topic because it got me thinking about just what level of fluoride in toothpaste is optimal for an adult. And, since I have been using 1450 for years, here, I am now thinking of UPPING my GAME with a doubling of the concentration.I think I should have made this move, long before now.Yet, it's never too late.More research here is clearly needed. Then, of course, there is always the Nuclear Option:After reading this Topic, I have decided to switch to a Colgate product with a much higher concentration of Sodium Fluoride.I will probably choose 5000ppm, and use it once per day. Then use the 2800ppm stuff before bed. This is my plan.I will go with this one, IF I can find it here in Thailand.
February 24Feb 24 I like the charcoal flavored Colgate. But they have so many varieties I sometimes get one of the others by mistake.Maybe it's like the Pepsi paradox but I always buy Colgate.
February 24Feb 24 If 9 out of 10 dentists really recommend a particular toothpaste, I want to find out which one is recommended by one out of ten.
