I know fellas, it's a normal conversation in Bedlam.

Difficult to comprehend, but I'm sure the usual tedium will be resumed shortly.

:o

A while ago, on some thread somewhere, Robski and Lo... Coldcrush, (sorry) established that they both were "of age" when the first late 80's Acid House party's startedtaking over the world. This was way back when they were genuine underground dance raves, none of the marketed <deleted> that we have today.

They established a connoiseurs-level of knowledge of tunes and dj's of that era.

I believe Coldcrush has lost a lot of that music along the travels of this journey called life, and I gather that Yobski has now replenished ColdCrush's supplies a raptourous audible joy.

Hey nowhere near what you have sent me buddy...however live in the happiness that it is so enjoyed!

Marshalll Jefferson - Someday.......

Honest it has set my soul alive, this is such a collection that I am glad I have the day to just sit and listen! I wish I could transport the both of us to the best moment that you felt in that era and you know it was a good one. Honestly I am overcome with it, I cannot stop listening...your are the man! I did not realise how much you actually had mate. I am going to have to cross my vinyl to MP3 its so nice to be able to listen to it on my comp.

Thank is not enough!

You guys should just get a room and take it out of the public forum :o

Well good threads mate, the smiley face could have been anyone at the time. Also the Clash were excellent, however the right time and place for dancing was in a warehouse or a good organised illegal event....a field, big old house and so on!

Anyway beware seems the new gear does strange things to your hands....

Happy... :o

This is MARVELOUS <deleted>. To see your enthusiasm (nay, pulsating throbbing life orb) is truly enervating.

In defence of my friend Crow Boy, however, I will let you Acid gents know that:

1) I haven't been on Bedlam at all for about 3 weeks 'cause Crow Boy gave me 168 GB of music. Yup, 168 GB. And I have been rocking and tripping and bluesing and god knows what else listening to this treasure trove. And yeah, there's Clash and a lot better there...

2) Crow Boy doesn't just ride motorcycles. He is an accomplished musician, owns and plays many different types of guitars, some of them very rare. And he shares the same enthusiasm you both have for music.

Just thought you should know that..... :D

McG

Just gonna add some tunes to this thread as best I can, because he knows hes the man! :o

Adonis - No Way Back

I think that record's scratched. Needle stuck in the same groove throughout. Or at least throughout as much as I could stand.

Great vids Coldcrush :o The early rave scenes look quite strange, not everyone is dancing or dressed how you would dress nowadays to go clubbing and I think that captures the newness off it all, that a lot of the people were just happy to be there enjoying the atmosphere and the music and of course a safe enviroment to take ectasy and acid.

For some of you guys who don't see what all the fuss is about I guess it really is a case of you had to be there, or rather that we are glad that we were there and part of it.

1988 - 1989 was a period of cultural revolution in the UK and that in no way is an over glorification of the times, dance music was the catalyst and MDMA was the key. It changed the perspective of individuals and society for the better, it couldn't get much worse really than casual violence, warm beer and cold war which had been the status quo for the previous 20 years, and dance music and it's unifying influence is still going strong now 20 years later. Marvellous! :D

No need to be defensive McG, we're too happy to be offensive. :D

We all know CrowBoy is a bad ass biker and kind hearted soul and any jabs were meant to be light hearted. :o

To be honest I never saw the relevance to this post, maybe a touch of musical madness one thinks. Maybe the use of acid to much when riding with "Barred from Heaven Biker Club" (dunno why I added that name just think it sounds a good name for a soft rock band).

Each to their own and what ever music it maybe, it is there to be enjoyed and respected from all partys as everyone is different (however Acid is better so :D).
