What the Iran war means for Ukraine

Featured Replies

The practical impact if the U.S. becomes embroiled in a drawn-out conflict in the Middle East could be even more severe than the political effect: Ukraine may be starved of the American-made weapons it needs to resist daily Russian missile attacks — because U.S. forces are using so many of them against Iran.

“Everyone understands that for us, this is our life — the appropriate weapons,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told reporters on Monday. “If there are long-term hostilities in the Middle East, this will certainly affect the supply. I am sure of this.”

An actual democracy could wind up being sacrificed.

But hey, I bet China is having second thoughts.

And that doesn't smack of fascism at all. It's all about the leader and not about objective policy considerations.

It’s the art of politics and diplomacy

Don’t bite the hand that feeds you especially in public

Nothing to do with fascism

The Europeans can make up the difference for Ukraine, assuming they can actually make decisions & implement them.

Easier to do severally than collectively ...

As I recall, the so-called disrespect consisted of Zelensky showing up for a meeting with Trump in his usual attire instead of a suit. The attire that he wears everywhere. For which, Vance publicly berated him.

And this qualifies as Zelensky's "disrespect"? Seriously? Most rational people would assign that to Vance for his conduct towards a Head of State.

What's more, the hand that feeds Ukraine belongs to the United States, not to Donald Trump, no matter how much his supporters may blur the two.

Tbf Ukraine needs an election too, you know, to be a democratic country again. I agree it does hurt to see little Z lose his media limelight and all those BILLIONS of $ flowing in to be squirrelled away. Poor guy.

It's not that easy. Weapon production capacity is rather low in Europe and it may take years to supply some weapons.

It would be easy to hold elections there. Russia just needs to stop attacking Ukraine! 🤣

It wasn't too long ago that you were complaining about the lack of US support. Now you are saying Ukraine was dependent upon it. Do tell us what exactly is it that the Ukraine is going to miss? The claims of depletion of US munitions are in respect to the advanced missiles like Tomahawks, items that were never shared with Ukraine.

The US has been targeting air defense systems in Iran and the Iranian airforce. these have almost all been neutralized. Once this is done, the USA will switch over to its generic dumb munitions. All munitions have a life span. The ordinance ages and loses its vitality as chemical compounds deteriorate and explosive potential diminishes. It's like canned food. There is a use before a certain date. many of the munitions being used were going to be recycled or depleted anyway. You should be delighted that now that iran is attacking everyone in the region, it no longer can send drones for use against Ukraine.

And instead of crying about US support, ask your european friends to take care of their own defense risk. Let Spain contribute to NATO. It has done almost nothing to help Ukraine. Ask Germany and France to step up its assistance to Ukraine. The east european countries on the border of Russia, can do alot more, but do not want to spend the money.

The Ukrainian Constitution forbids elections during times of war. Of course, maybe you're following the Trump administration's line of what constitutes a war and what doesn't. As for Zelensky squirreling away millions, you have any actual evidence that is the case? It's funny how persist against all evidence that Joe Biden was profiting from unsavory activities, but when it comes to Trump you prefer to ignore the overwhelming evidence.

When did Ukraine declare war on Russia?

When did Ukraine declare war on Russia?

Ukraine's Law on Defense (Article 4) states that a "state of war" begins from the moment of an announcement or the actual start of military actions. Therefore, by formally enacting Martial Law and declaring a "State of National Defense," Ukraine legally acknowledged that the "state of war" exists domestically to trigger its defense protocols, without needing the 19th-century-style "Declaration of War" against Russia.

I believe we blew this leftist/Ukraine war hawk narrative to smithereens after pointing out how ridiculous a situation it would be if the left's nemesis changed the US consitution so he could remain in power for a 3rd term and beyond because.....the US is technically at war. Pretty stupid argument for no elections ever again isnt it😅

Oh and btw, 5 years on not a single forum Biden bro has even attempted to explain why Americas adversaries were showering countless millions (that the forum left falselyband frantically denied/censored ever being paid) to the Bidens web of dozens of LLCs for years and years. Spoiler alert - it was treason.

Not exactly. It is forbidden under martial law, which has been declared the day the invasion started and approved by Parliament.

The clown turned up like he was cosplaying tom cruise in top gun then started moaning the us hadn’t given him enough cash

Rightfully slapped down

Apparently Trump is now asking Ukraine to help battle the Iranian drones 🤣 😂

Guess what? For a formal state of war both sides have to declare war. So, as long as as the Russians didn't declare war, there can't be a war? And Ukraine's laws don't count about what constitutes war and what doesn't?

On top of which, your thinking is way out of date. The concept of war has been replaced by International Armed Conflict. And no formal declaration of war needs to be declared for an International Armed Conflict to be recognized as such.

No. What stupid is claiming that it's legal to ignore their Constitution. And as for no elections ever again, where did you get the peice of nonsense from?

As for the Bidens...not a shred of evidence has emerged to show Joe Biden ever received anything. And you really should learn what treason means. Whereas Trump is openly profiting massively from people whom he has pardoned.

Ukrainians jollily looted the valuables from Jewish homes when the Nazis marched them away, happily shoved children into gas chambers, burned villages as part of the Waffen SS and were traitors to their motherland. Every mass grave in the Ukraine is a monument to their perfidy. If you look at Russian history, blood is dripping off the fangs of Ukrainian vampires throughout, who didnt even hesitate to kill their own.

Which is why I don't feel sorry for them against Russia. Karma catching up with them.
