Thai-Flagged Cargo Ship Abandoned After Attack Near Strait of Hormuz

Trump wouldn't dream of bombing Russia, China or North Korea!

Its the small fry that get cooked! Remember WMD, Libya etc.?

I agree with that except Iran is not small fry like Trump thought. He thought it was going to be relatively simple like Panama or Grenada. Due to his arrogance, hubris and puffed up chest, and unwillingness to read a single briefing paper, he forgot about Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Iraq Afghanistan, and the hundred other overseas adventures the US has been involved in since World War II. All of which have failed.

The US is not won a single war in 81 years, but nobody seems to remember that in the fog of war and the ignorant enthusiasm for death and destruction.

You've got it bad that's for sure. Thread on a Thai vessel being hit by terrorists and all you can do is call Trump a peodophile.

I think calling Trump a pedophile is highly inaccurate. It would be more accurate to call him a serial statutory rapist.

Iran will apologize and then blame Trump, which in fact is only logical. Iran would prefer not to attack innocent people, but they have limited options to defend itself, and turning world opinion against Trump is a legitimate one. Note that the ship wasn't sunk nor was anyone hurt. Iran is simply out to disrupt commerce. Iran is creating an economic crisis which will be blamed on Trump. And he deserves it.

Iran is creating economic chaos because that's one of their most powerful options but the real question is what is the US doing? And why did the US do it? Was Trump directed by his Puppet Masters, the Deep State, and is there agenda to destroy the entire global economy and then rebuild it from the ground up in their likeness?

Iran once again proving that it is a terrorist state. The majority of their attacks have been on population centers and civilian targets. If it quacks like a terrorist - it's a terrorist. They are desperate and shooting in all directions. Might be time for troops on the ground (a coalition of US/Saudi/UAE/Qatar/Oman/Kuwait and some Euro countries if they don't p**** out) to carve out a demilitarized zone around the straits. Pretty sure that's what will happen if they act on their threats of hitting civilian banks, tech companies, and more civilian ships.

It's just a matter of time.

The US and Israel are committing war crimes against the Iranian people, and you blame Iran for defending itself?

Apologies. As an American I read on social media posts that if I do not agree with the initiation of attack by the USA, at this time, I support the Iranian regime. Just noting that there are those, the world over, that are capable of only a world of ... yes/no, right/wrong ...

I have also been called a traitor for being critical of US policy, it's about as ignorant an accusation as one could possibly level against an American at this point in time.

This is interesting because I've been called a lot of things in this lifetime, but I've never been called a traitor before. Alot of my friends actually consider me to be quite loyal, but I guess because I don't agree with all of Trump's policies I'm also a traitor now.

So could you please explain to me how this works. Where can I turn myself in, and who should I turn myself into, so that I can be tried for sedition against my nation. Once I'm found guilty how will the punishment be carried out? Will it be through electrocution, or the gas chamber, or will it be boring old lethal injection? Perhaps they will they hang me? Perhaps I will be one of the first to be brought before the fascists newly formed firing squads?

I need that information so we can proceed with my execution. You need to provide that and show us that you're a truly patriotic American.

How is hitting a Thai cargo ship defending itself?

No it's the Iranian government that is committing war crimes against the Iranian people, who also want to wipe out the Israelis while shouting out Death to America

Given the hit was in the region of the engine room which is at the stern of the vessel its doubtful that it would be a mine, more likely a torpedo or a missile. If so it would seem like Iran is firing at anything they think they can hit, interesting to see what becomes of it as I cannot imagine the Iranian regime to be very sympathetic given their situation. Sad that it would appear 3 crew members have been killed in the explosion.

Well it has.

Thailand denounced the attack on a Thai-flagged vessel in the Strait of Hormuz and summoned Iran’s ambassador, as authorities race to rescue three crew members feared trapped aboard the damaged ship.

Some of the local armies are a pretty shady lot. The UAE army is mostly non-Emirati; Colombians, Sudanese, Yemeni guns for hire. Generally speaking, in the Gulf states, unless you're in the Royal families, no one joins the army if they have to. When I was in Bahrain, the BDF was either Jordanians (crack troops really) or pot bellied Bahrainis who abandoned a desert exercise when they ran out of Pepsi. These days, Bahrain has shifted recruitment to more Sunni (ie Salafist) Syrians and Balochs from Pakistan, and naturalised them, to change the demographics of the island away from majority Shia (ISIS flags were seen being flown at one time in Hamed Town, which is a new town built for the police). Many of the Gulf states, even Saudi on the Eastern side, have substantive Shia populations. And the Shia are the downtrodden lot, treated like <deleted> at times. In these countries, you join the army if you can't get a noddy job with the government. But the Shia who join, and I've witnessed this, are regularly denied promotion. Very sectarian. I wouldn't trust them in Iran not to switch sides.

Essentially the governments in the region buy off the populations with trinkets, with stability being a mirage.

I see some posters are calling the captain an idiot.

Yet he was apparently told to move some 20km by the port authorities.

The Captain of a ship, as with an aircraft, is the BOSS! NO ONE can tell him/her what to do in difficult or emergency situations. The buck stops there!

😂 You are 100% correct on that!

BUT... only under normal conditions! If the port authority ask you to get out, can the Captain say I am the BOSS, I will not!!!

Please, understand the conditions...

The vessel would have been under Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) control to approach the outbound Traffic Separation Lane. The Master would have been complying with VTS instructions over VHF radio to join the outbound separation lane.

There is no publicly confirmed operational Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) system actively controlling traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

The port controller was probably Iranian wanting to get a better shot at him.

Sorry, tong in cheek!

According to early reports, the strike hit the rear section of the vessel, severely damaging the engine room and sparking a fire. The damage left the ship unable to operate.

Sometimes, we fail to read the entire post... I too do that mistake.

Engine Room Hit As Fire Breaks Out

According to initial reports, the projectile struck the rear section of the ship, heavily damaging the engine room and sparking a fire on board.

The damage left the vessel unable to manoeuvre, forcing the crew to declare an emergency and abandon ship.

You are correct in that A PROJECTILE struck the ship YOU ASSUMED torpedo or a missile. NO evidence of this happing !! and again you stated crew men missing yes one reports says missing but another reports all safe the point is nobody knows the facts yet !!

Per the forum rules, you must provide a source.

Since the "bombing " of the school does NOT meet the definition of a War Crime (it is the school you care about right ?) we certainly know its not the kids you care about because you made excuse when Iran poisoned their own children.

I know you have trouble with the internet so heres your AI answer that you love so much.

AI Overview
