By bombing innocent school children?

Imo only terrorist kill innocent children, can you agree with that?

Come on. This is just a leftist talking point. Sure that seems to have been a terrible fk up but you can't just say this without talking about how many civilians, including children, the Islamic fundamentalist regime has killed or sponsored to kill in the name of their interpretation of Allah. Sadly this aspect of reality seems not to be accepted or said by those on here that only post on this subject because of their irrational hatred of Trump.

I asked a question. if you're going to deride the US, I'd like to know what country you're from and see if it also makes mistakes. Trump is the president, but decisions are still made through Congress, especially if they're going to continue. He's not a war monger. he just decided to do something the previous few didn't.

So the US learned from Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan et al?? And I watched Hegseth deliver his "update" on TV and he was like a gleefully dumb child and he was appalling.

One thing I forgot to mention – –

something which was particularly galling was the way that Hegseth went on about praising God for this and that and doing right by God and so on, when both he and Trump have disgraceful records with regards to adhering to what the Bible says good Christian should do .......

  • Hegseth's first wife was his high school sweetheart, Meredith Schwarz.

  • The marriage ended in divorce after Hegseth admitted to multiple affairs, with reports indicating he admitted to cheating five times.

  • Hegseth married Samantha Deering in 2010. They have three biological children together: Gunner, Peter Boone, and Rex.

  • Deering filed for divorce in 2017 after it was revealed that Hegseth was having an affair with Jennifer Rauchet, who was pregnant with their child

  • Hegseth married Jennifer Rauchet, a producer for Fox News (specifically Fox & Friends), in August 2019.

  • They welcomed a daughter, Gwendolyn, in August 2017, prior to their marriage.

Furthermore, this has been stated with regards to Hegseth, as a bit of background on him: –

"Hegseth is a conservative culture warrior, a central casting alpha male who believes in guns, God, and the primacy of the family unit".

What a load of old cobblers as he seems to be following in Trump's footsteps with regards to infidelities, adulteries and various other non-Christian activities. "God is with us; what nonsense".

It almost made me want to puke watching the lies and double standards emanating from this clown show.

It's fairly clear Trump has no respect for congress, and he makes decisions that he knows are a fait-accompli and it's then too late for congress to reverse them. E.g. how do you reverse the Iran war?

You mention Regime Change. It's illegal to have that as an aim and justification for an attack.

AI says this

Under international law, attacking another country with the explicit goal of regime change is illegal unless authorized by the UN Security Council or justified under narrow self-defense provisions. The UN Charter prohibits the use of force to interfere in another state’s sovereignty, and regime change is not recognized as a lawful justification.

That's true, but extremes sometimes call for extreme measures and bending of the rules. There isn't any other logical approach to this anyone has figured out, and the regime needed to be stopped before they continued their killings.

AI says it did,...The United States, alongside Israel, initiated military action against Iran in early 2026 to dismantle Iran's nuclear and military capabilities, claiming to eliminate "imminent threats" to American and allied interests in the region

. The strikes aim to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and to destroy its missile capabilities.

Key factors and justifications for the conflict include:

  • Preventive Action and Security: The U.S. stated the strikes were necessary to stop Iran from attacking American personnel, assets, and allies.

  • Nuclear and Military Targets: The campaign targeted Iran's nuclear infrastructure and military leadership, specifically intending to permanently end Iran's nuclear program.

  • Regime Change Goal: President Trump indicated a desire to encourage an internal revolt and remove the current Iranian regime.

  • Regional Instability: The conflict follows intense tensions over Iran’s regional activities, its backing of militias, and threats to maritime shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. .........................Contained takes time.

AI is gathering statements made on the internet and distilling them for you.

It’s also listed claimed objectives, which change by the day, but are all breaches of the UN Charter.

Articles 2(4) and 51 apply.

Guess you don't want to admit your country has made mistakes also.

Your doctrine of extremes does not negate international law and is indeed evidence of intent to ignore international law.

But they are still legitimate reasons, even if there are also other ones.

No they are not.

Article 51 applies.

Just now, Chomper Higgot said:

I'm just stating what's happened and the reasons why. If there are other ways around this, stopping Iran's regime and killing of innocents, and doing it without war, I'm sure they would have tried them earlier. As far as Article 51, Iran has been killing for decades, so something had to be done.

Just now, fredwiggy said:

not saying that ! i would think all country's make mistakes but mistakes against international law would say that is exclusive the USA

Why are you trying to justify killing of civilian your leader and his admin have committed war crimes and should be brought to account

You return again to the laughable argument that this war is about protecting innocents.

Let’s put aside any suggestion that this illegal war of aggression is a mistake.

It is nothing of the sort.

It is a war of choice.

Well, again seeing America is all countries in one place, that means exactly that. Every country's citizens has relatives living in America, and they are voters and living there for a reason.

One reason. I'm still waiting for someone to give a better way than what America, Israel and likely other countries are and will do here. How do you stop terrorists without shooting or bombing them and their weaponry?

Refrain from engaging in regime change is a start.

Please show where regime change was explicitly stated as the goal. Be a good outcome for sure for the Iranian people but I can't remember seeing the explicit goal of of this military action being regime change.

Every country has people from that country living in America, and have for a very long time. Not your relatives but your ancestry. Understand? America is all countries in one place. This is one reason they choose to defend other countries. Yes, there are also other reasons where greed is involved, but protection of people is the most important one.

This war is NOT about regime change nor about terrorists it is about money and oil sames as Venezuela OIL !!!

No need to change the government and the positive things they do, but I'm sure you've noticed other things they've also done which are kinda illegal. Not only Iran's but a few others, usually with a dictator involved.

Yes like signing a non nuclear deal and abiding by its terms.

Oops! What happened to that.

Who told you this?

maybe Trump as he claimed the island has been obliterated, the same Trump that said back in June 2025 that Iran nuclear program had been completely obliterated... it must be Trump's new word to use, it replaced the ""tremendous""

Trump didn't believe what the leader said, so took action. Snap judgement but again, they needed to be gone, and again, this is the only way. If there wasn't the fact Iran under his leadership didn't kill so many Americans and Iranians, along with other countries people,we wouldn't need to get involved yes.

A dictator is

a ruler possessing absolute, unrestricted control over a country, typically seizing power through force or coercion rather than democratic means. They bypass constitutional, legal, or legislative checks, often maintaining power through oppression and censorship

this sounds like trump

There are two aggressors in this illegal war, Israel and the U.S.

It would be naive to believe they have the same objectives.

But Trump was voted in.
