Nope - it's the fault of the other NATO countries who failed to stand up to Trump and reign him in

NATO members should NEVER need to reign in another ally or be put into that position by such an egomaniacal TACO leader of a member country.

It is meant to be an alliance of countries held together by the articles of their alliance and not a group dominated by a dictator!

(which goes totally against the purpose of NATO - an attack on one is an attack on all)

Must have escaped my attention that Iran started the war?? NATO is a defensive alliance, not an alliance to support wars of choice by crazy leaders

Let me lay down some simple facts.

The United States did not consult Nato before the joint attacks by USA and Israel on Iran. It is not a matter for Nato.

Article 5 is invoked when one member is attacked is considered an attack against all. US was not attacked. US initiated attacks on Iran.

Stupid remark about Nato surrendering to Islam.

Simon is correct in a round about way. NATO per se hasn't surrendered in to Islam, but can you imagine the domestic Islamic terrorist attacks that would likely happen in NATO countries if they became involved.

With the amount of Islamic migrants that have invaded some European countries, I am sure this is of consideration to the politicians.

13 dead and 200 injured US military service personnel and not including thousands dead in Iran and middle-east countries, billions spent on war, caused a global economic crisis and he said this casually and callously.

Maybe we shouldn’t even be there’

Impeached this demented mad fool and save the country and the world.

That looks like a totally different mindset compared to your other post.

Do you agree that the US was wrong in attacking Iran?

Of course I do, have I ever said anything that demonstrates support for this ridiculous war?

Most Islamic or rather muslim migrants are economic migrants, persecuted or from wars. They migrate and struggle for a better life. Majority unlikely to be involved in ideology. Not to say that there are no domestic terrorism. Could be racial or ethnically motivated. Not entirely religious driven. For example white supremacist extremism is the top domestic terrorism threat in the US.

Finally a sensible post unlike the many anti American quislings who appear to be willing the mad mullahs to cause maximum damage to American and Western interests

Trump thought (or thinks) that warships can protect the oil tankers by escorting them through the Strait – he's totally deluded. He's sacked all the people who could advise him and now his "short" operation has turned into a lingering, festering wound.

Just like his mentor's.

What are you bothering me with now? In your haste to attack you copy and pasted the wrong comment and are attributing it to me. Get a grip. Take a deep breath and think.

The USA has been doing remarkably well. Iran's military capabiliities have been degraded to the point that Iran has lost the ability to defend its airspace, and it is without a navy. The US casualties are minimal. No troops have been lost in direct combat. A small number have been lost or injured due to the earlier missile strikes. Iranian missile launches and drone attacks have dropped off to the point that the UAE airspace has reopened.

On any given day, the US suffers 1 fatality due to mishap like a vehicle crash or a fall, or a training incident. Even the recent loss of the aircraft, while tragic, was not unusual. Between late 2019 and mid-2024, the US military logged 4,820 aviation mishaps. Of these, 222 were classified as Class A incidents, accidents involving a death, permanent disability, destroyed aircraft or at least $2.5 million in damage. During this period 90 service members and Defence Department civilian employees were killed, 89 aircraft were destroyed and losses totalled $9.4 billion.

The intervention has been underway for only 2 weeks..They are slowly working down their list of priority targets. It took 14 years for Assad to be removed.

The ever-lying american pedo 'president' did it again!! First he and his fellow Israeli terrorist Netanyahu started yet another war, which he already declared 'won'. And now he wants to drag the rest of the world into his war, de facto WWIII. Israel wants to nuke Iran, surely trump thinks it is a good idea... Et voila!

So when Trump signed the very bad contract with the Taliban to leave Afghanistan during his first term, he surrendered to Islam and was happy to be Afghanistan's bitch?

And since he does not do anything against North Korea, he surrendered to KJU and is his bitch now?

Trump is Putin's, Kim's, Xi's, Bibi's, MBS's, and the Deep State's bitch.

Trump appears to be cornered and trapped, and behaving like a deer caught in the headlights, after Iran has completely surprised, flummoxed and confused him over their game plan and reaction. Their attempt to decimate the Middle Eastern economy seems to have caught this absolute fool by surprise. And though Trump was warned by his advisors that Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz was a significant danger, he blundered forth and ignored their advice as usual. And it represents just another very reckless move that prevents him from fulfilling his promise to bring prices and inflation down. And now this recklessness has not only lowered the quality of life for the average American, it's creating problems for people all over the world. And it's just another reason why I continue to say that he is perhaps the most dangerous man in the world at this time.

A week ago, President Donald Trump told Britain not to bother sending ships to the Middle East because he’d already won the Iran war.

Now, he’s calling on America’s “special relationship” ally; fellow NATO states; and even China to dispatch vessels to open the Strait of Hormuz. He implied that if help didn’t arrive, Europe’s US defense umbrella and his planned summit this month with Chinese leader Xi Jinping could be at risk.

Trump’s salvo, in an interview with the Financial Times, was a fresh sign that despite his multiple Iran victory laps, the war is far from over.

The administration is also operating under a dark historical cloud. This war is not yet directly comparable to the “forever wars” in Iraq and Afghanistan. But in both those cases, early US triumphs were undermined by the political impact of the initial assault and poor understanding of foreign nations. There are enough signs in Iran to validate public concerns about a possible quagmire.

The overthrow of the government would represent a huge win for the Iranian people and would provide Trump with a genuine legacy achievement.

Many Iran analysts, however, worry that a collapse of central authority could lead to sectarian or civil strife and an implosion of the Iranian state. Such an outcome might bog down US forces in the region for years to come — or leave allies facing massive security problems. The war between the US, Israeli and the Iranian governments might ostensibly end. But the international crisis it precipitated might get a lot worse.

Analysis: If Trump has already won the Iran war, why does he need foreign ships to help him end it? | CNN Politics https://share.google/mu2uvfwyCXjHmwnuW

US President Donald Trump has warned that the future of the NATO alliance could be at risk

Was it not Trump who was complaining that NATO did not pay its way?

And that Trump wished to either get NATO to pay, or...

The USA would not protect NATO countries with some his golden umbrella?

Of course, being Trump, any umbrella worth using must be GOLD, only gold....

He loves GOLD......

The news from Washington is becoming more ridiculous, by the hour....it seems.

But, who are we to complain?

Trump needs to pressure his Navy. The american navy was the first to refuse to go anywhere near the Hormuz. The american navy sailed 1,000 miles in the other direction and refused to fight. One american vessel even started a fire on their own deck to avoid fighting. If the american navy is terrified to go near the Strait of Hormuz, then why would civilian ships risk going there. american cowardice.

That he (and the US generally) is also beholden to Israel and AIPAC is no secret.

But by falling for Netanyahu's ploy to avoid HIS jail sentence it also offered him the chance to do something good by Putin who saw the chance: cut sanctions just as things are getting real hard for Russia. Of course Putin jumped at the chance and encouraged him.

Putin's an experienced handler. Like Trump, an appallingly miserable president for the average Joe in the street and his country at large, but also a pretty decent KGB boss. He towers over Trump intellectually.

Trump is merely a good example of what happens when a prole gets too much cash in his hands.

Oh, and the war also deflects from the Trump-Epstein files. When did you last hear of them except on late night shows?

First I've ever heard of this which I'm sure would be headline news somewhere. When did that happen?

He's a loon, and made it up. The Ford had a fire in the laundry, quite a big one.

Undergoing repairs in Crete. No evidence it was deliberate, but commentators have pointed out this ship has been on extended operations, was never that reliable to start with, and is starting to show systemic failures related to a need for maintenance

The Iranian’s say they have hit the American aircraft carrier.

Previously the carriers withdrew to a safer distance and they have never entered the strait of Hormuz.

But of course it's only a massive fire in the laundry room 🤣
