I have had mixed experiences with couriers and Thai Post.

A few minutes ago my phone rang for about 5 seconds. It was a 09 prefix so probably delivery-related and I am expecting two deliveries at the moment. Both are in theory "out for delivery".

Often they call me to ask where the house is. Sometimes they add they're not far away so I will head out with a bottle of cold water for them. I hand it to them amidst the dog barking.

Sometimes I am notified via e-mail/ app/ whatever that the delivery has been made. This may or may not have happened.

Sometimes I get "failed to deliver". This only makes sense if someone is required to sign for a package.

In general I don't think they understand or anticipate post boxes or doorbells. Maybe a bigger sign near the doorbell (which is to the right of the letter box, which are set into the left hand gate post of our large, electrical gate)? Maybe I can try to get the security camera to send alerts if someone approaches?

Like the OP, website shows delivered , but they did not come.

COD = no problem because I hadn't paid yet , but still I want

to know what happened.

The delivery person will often snap a photo of the parcel in front of where it is delivered, if it's not delivered by hand.

I once got a messager that a package was delivered, but I hadn't received it. The phote showed the parcel in front of someone elses house, however with same house number, but in a different district/village. I just snapped a photo of my house and house number as proof. Two days later I got my delivery.

I have had 3 or 4 packages that never arrived from Shopee or Lazada. Mostly they are delivered to another house which is clear from the delivery photographs. I recovered one of them because I spotted it immediately and called the driver and got him to tell me where he dropped. I got in the car and found the place. It was still sitting of the porch of the house. No sign of a dog. So I just walked in, took my package and left. Once I contacted the courier, Flash, and got a really businesslike reply saying my package had been traced and they would deliver it within 24 hours but I never received anything.

I have also had two packages ordered from Ebay USA recently and sent by Fedex service that hands them over to Thailand post on arrival. Fedex tracking just said "with a trusted third party for delivery". So I call Fedex Thailand. They give me a Thailand Post tracking number which says its on the way from Sweden. No response from Thailand Post. Total loss. Couldn't really blame on the US vendor because he tried to keep the delivery cost down and make it viable for overseas customers but had no control over Thailand Post.

Using Planet Express freight forwarder to send stuff from the US by the cheapest method, particularly stuff from Amazon that is not for export works fairly but sometimes the tracking never moves from the original pick up and you never receive any tracking. Sometimes the package arrives up to 4 months later with no tracking and sometimes it never arrives at all. Planet Express blames the carrier and doesn't take any responsibility.

Not so strangely, my employer took a dim view of people who didn't show up at the office.

I even tried having Lazada deliver to the office, but that was an inconvenience, too... Getting pulled out of meetings by the receptionist to take a delivery.

After a few successful deliveries, I started paying in advance and never had a problem in hundreds of deliveries. Even if they claimed to deliver before they actually did, I always got the package within a day or so.
