Hi All, I bought the cheapest phone at Carrefour for 2,290 and then a SIM. Only made one 1 min call - but had about 50 min of incoming calls. Suddenly, my balance is used up. Q: did they charge me for incoming calls?!? This sucks! *** Is DTAC better? any comment will be appreciated! Thanks and take care, Chris

I do not believe any of the Thai companies charge for incoming calls.

When you buy the SIM card it does not have much talk time.

You need to buy the recharge cards.

Calls are charged at 5 baht/min inside Thailand.

Did someone else use your phone when you were not looking.

Check the list of dialed numbers!!

Sorry Astral, I disagree.

When I signed up for One-2-Call I took a 500 baht special offer that gave nearly 1,000 baht of calls. After that I'm back to the 300 baht renewals.

But never been charged for incoming calls, as far as I know - that's a Singaporean trick.

Sorry. What do you disagree with?

The standard SIM card has max 100 baht call time, when you buy it.

As you said, yours was a SPECIAL.

That's not correct, astral.

300 Baht Free Call Promotion for 30 days when buying Starter Kit (Price : 888 baht)

Calls are between 5 and 8 baht.

AIS One2Call is a waste of money unless you are going off the beaten track.

Here is the link for DPrompt the prepaid side of DTAC.

Well you shot yourself in the foot there.

Starter kit Sim card 500 bht 100 minutes of free calls (5baht x 100 min = 500 baht) Card was free.

Starter kit Sim card 250 bht 50 minutes of free calls (5baht x 50 min = 250 baht) Card saved you 10 baht.

If you paid 888 baht you were ripped off!!

Where did you get '100 mins' of free calls from? It is written 100 baht worth of credit... for HappyDprompt.

The original poster purchased a One2Call SIM card. RRP. 888 baht, replete with 300 baht worth of credit.

Though, of course it is hardly necessary to pay RRPs anymore.
