I recently triied several times over a 48 hr period to call Majestic Suites in BKK and am not able to get through----the recording says all international lines for the country your calling are busy. My long distance carrier is IDT. AT&T is way to expensive. I also sent them (Majestic suites) an E-mail but got no reply. Does anyone know of a fairly inexpensive / reliable way to call Thailand from the US. Suggestions appreciated. :o

All you need to do is go to a 7-11 / quick mart type of place and get a phone card. You will have to look around for the best rates but there are some very good one's to be found . Im .. well she is getting around 6.5 cents a miniute to a cell phone NOT in BKK.

Hope that help's

www.thaiconnector.com

Virtual phone cards for sale there. You dial a 800 number and enter a PIN, then the number you want to call.

The highest quality is provided by the BKT Telecom cards in my experience.

Bell South prepaid phone cards are pretty reliable and the cost is $20.00 for 47 minutes. If you want to get a better rate try looking for an asian market that sells prepaid phone cards. You can usally get between 1 - 4 hours for $ 20.00.

Yeah I have gotten phone cards called "call to laos" 50 minutes for 10 bucks Usually at asian markets I found them I also used the US Post Office phone cards 50 mins for 10 bucks.

Just a thought .....

What key sequence exactly are you dialing ?

+660xxxxyyyy ??

001660xxxxyyyy ??

011660xxxxyyyy ??

+1660xxxxyyyy ??

Not all of these are correct. Only 2 are.

Many times it is a misdial of proper sequence.

Try calling from a land line as well as a mobile.

Did you try calling another LOS number to see

if it is just Majestic with the problem ??

Maybe one of the above is the problem.

In fact none of your examples is right. You never dial zero after the 66 country code.

Well I stand corrected.

But in a way, you reiterated my point.

It is madenly easy to insert, omit or just plain

get a proper sequence wrong, especially if you

are doing it for the first time.
