My number one advise for best for your money :

Dunlop Sportmax 060+ (made in Japan)

I have it on the atto3 and I love them, very sport and a bit loud, super sharp on turning and curves.

You can get really cheap in lazada.

On IM5 I'll also install it in a few months. I'm already 10,000km on im5 and have about 4-6 months left. Ll before I will change it.

Option 2, a more balanced tires: Continental MC7.

They're great but not as sporty as the dunlop.

Option 3: if you have money to spare, Pilot Sport 5 (PS5) This is probably the best, but quite expensive. To me I think Dunlop are more value.

All these are EV ready that can support the extra weight.

They are terrible and expensive. EV labeled tires are harder and last longer but they do terrible in in many tests. Check out that German site for testing tires, most ev labeled tires do pretty bad in some tests compared to normal tires that cost less

yep, they are expensive here. But.... you can get Dunlop SportMax006+ for half of that price to get nearly 90% same performance.

I got 235/45 R18 , exactly same as you, but in 18" for 14,000 baht and paid 2,000 baht to install it locally.

you can also get the MC7 for less than 20,000 baht for the set, with very similar performance.

What I like about the Dunlop is that it is made in Japan, which produces nearly perfect compounds.

Why as I stated a few times, I'm getting the same, newer verson of present tires, from MG, when the time comes.

Tiresbid used to be the cheapest and they even install it at your house, I got MC6 for the Honda HRV many years ago and they came install at my house for very cheap. they have all the equipment on a pickup truck bed. The HRV now has the Primacy 4.

Tires-off is now very cheap when you can get the Lazada coupons plus big sales.

We'll probably stick with Primacy, as that's what on there now. A tire that lasts 4-5 yrs and 70-80k kms, yea, we're getting them again.

yes, Primacy 4 is great and not expensive, not for me thou. The new Primacy 5 is probably a great tire, but I have no idea or interest on it.

I'm super hooked on dunlop now, price and performance is so good. Michelin is over-priced here in Thailand, even they are made in Thailand!

Anyways, having a concern over dunlop for fakes doesnt make so much sense. because Bridgestone and Michelin sells a lot more than Dunlops here.

Durn good deal....I'm surprised it's such a large price drop...BYD will surely sell a lot. I thought the EV price war of 2024-2025 was pretty much over since few BIG price drops have occurred in 2026. But I guess price-cut sneak attacks, like this Atto 3 price cut, will continue now and then.

I also expect the end of year Car Expo in early December will have a good amount of sneak attacks to close out the year.

I better hurry to sell my Atto 3. Last week, the first car dealer I asked, gave me 300,000 baht for it.

today I'm not sure I will get the same price.

Also you don't mention steering feedback. What's that like on the Seal? Personally I find cars with overly aggressive PAS are not fun to drive hard.

I had two work trucks running around Bangkok with occasional trips to Pattaya and one of two to Phuket. The second set after OEM were Deestone. Cheap and chips and did the job.

I've owned it for 3 years now and it's great fun to drive. I have no plans to sell it as I have yet to find another car at sensible money that is so entertaining. You don't feel the weight at all.

I have stopped flying and prefer the 900km round trip drive to BKK.

It's a BYD and at 3 years old it will be upgraded or replaced.

There was a guy on here a few months ago trying to buy an AWD but couldn't find a dealer with one. He asked if I was willing to sell mine, but I said no.

The new MG4 Long range has about the same performance as an ancient Dodge Omni GLH turbo and is about the same size so good enough for me. I don't go far 150 kms one way. More likely only 90. and max speed about 120-ish. So there and back with no faffing around.

I wanted something cheap that gave me a rear camera as I already had front facing and I wanted a small unit to mount on the front screen

They're softer than the Dunlop SportMax and Pilot Sport.

What a pity they dont make sizes that fit the IM5 (275/35), otherwise I would love to try them next. I guess I'm still sticking to the SportMax for now...

The graphic shows the evolution of the Atto 3. The article talks about the Atto 3 in Malaysia but the graphic really applies to where ever the Atto 3 is sold. And I think the graphic serves as an example of how fast EVs are improving in technology, battery/range, DC charging speed, etc.
