Motorcycle Modifications

Featured Replies

Can anyone suggest a shop for modifying my Suzuki 125cc? I'm looking to get the ports bored and polished, carburetor jetted, and maybe a a lightweight swingarm to shed a few kgs.

Also, is there a motorcycle club in BKK for the little bikes? Anyone interested in a distance ride on the first Saturday of every month?

Hey dk,

If the bike is an original manufacture from here, then best take it back to them. They at least can advise you who is capable of such a task if they will not do it. Generally the work you ask is beyond normal capabiliteis in Thai workshops and workmanship is questionable at its best.

Unless u have a particular affinity with this bike, why not step up in size, there are lots of bikes on the market just now 150-600cc or go the whole hog and buy a 2nd bike for the Sat. runs that's built for days out. Like mine - Yamaha FJ1200 - see classifieds.

If all this is of no use call Siamsuperbikes -02-390-0500 ask for thai guy Jum (speaks english) he may help or Red baron 02-729-4131-2 ( no cantact) closed Wed.

Although the above specialize in big bikes, the work you require won't phase them.

Thanks for the numbers, Teach. I haven't gone with the bigger bikes yet, because I like the agility of the smaller and lighter 125. For me, it's perfect for getting around town and inbetween all the traffic. I do want a bigger bike for longer weekend rides. That FJ1200 is a touring bike? Didn't Yamaha make a 1200 in the FZ style? Just wondering, but I'll check that out. Back home I had a 1974 Honda 750 that had 500 miles on it when I bought it in 1995 and I had a ex-cop KZ900. I was a little embarassed to get on such a small bike here, but they're surprisingly fun. I've already done some minor mods and stepped up the thrust, but I want to make sure I get someone who knows what they're doing. I guess it's just a hobby and current fascination.

Tak care
