And one for Patsy

I know you are from the North, but County Down?

A great reminder about, 'Simplicity', Kayo if you didn't know it was written by Phil Coulter about his autistic son.

It was always very difficult to find on LP and CD and how Patsy unearthed it, it is Heaven sent.

Luke, didn't like to sing it too often, because of the emotion it stirred.

Patsy you are a star.

On another sort of thing this seems to becoming the IRISH thread of this forum?

I bought a book today for my forth coming holiday, ' How the Irish saved Civilization', the untold story of Ireland's role from the Fall of Rome to the Rise of Medieval Europe.

Sounds good to me

I have read this and it is very interesting. Certainly the first half of it, the second half stretches things a bit far! However, the premise of Ireland being the land of saints and scholars, when the rest of Europe was in the 'dark ages' is valid. let me know what you think of it...

My readings are a little vague now, but I believe that Ireland had the first effective National Health Service, only to be destroyed by invading competing cultures, maybe the book will remind me.
