Hello there

I have just started living in Lampang. I am not able to get ADSL at my house (sounds like the performance would be awful anyway), so I will have to take my laptop to Chiang Mai / Bangkok to download large files.

Can anyone suggest which places in both cities have the fastest connections / download speeds? They will also need to be laptop-friendly.

In Chiang Mai there are a number of free-use wireless hotspots with broadband (512 kbit) links.

Visit: www.jiwire.com or www.wi-fi.org and do a search in Chiang Mai.

Also, Blue Hotspot (www.bluehotspot.com) is launching services in November here and will be in trial mode in the next few weeks.
