Another global warming propaganda attempt. The world has been warming and cooling since its begining. Mankind is responsible for a miniscule amount of this. All the global warming scare stories are just an excuse to tax you till you squeek and get away with it in the guise of saving the planet. Cows farting put more co2 into the atmosphere than all human activity so sorry if I dont buy into the plant a tree to save the planet crap. :o Im all for using less plastic but less of the global warming crap. A parent in the UK is sueing the goverment to get them to stop showing Al Gores propaganda fest " an inconvenient truth " to children in school as it is not fact but political propaganda which should not be taught as factual . Global warming has become the new religion of the 21 century and a lot of people have bought into it. For me its as said just another way to justify taking a load more money from you!!!! :D

the great majority of the scientists warn about global warming, population is informed and concerned and the politicians has to act. The Kyoto agreement was not about taxes but about reducing co2.

farting cows are a human activity - amazon rainforest was chopped down to breed herds of cows for the burgers and make take away packaging in the fast food shops. Hence less oxygen and more of metan, CO2 and rubbish.

yes, in capitalism, where the profit counts, even the green issues can be a money spinning mashine for the companies and for the governments - but the issue of global warming still exists and should be reacted upon by all of us.

the global problem can't be solved within the present wasteful socio-economic system which bred it in the first place - short sighted production for profit at any cost, disregard to the environment and human beings, politics of grabbing as much natural resources through wars and starving the rest of the population.

I know it's difficult to abandon old habits and change the way you think and just burrying your head in the sand - probably some dramatic event in your nearest environment, like unusual flood, will make you realise that it was all preventable.

Further to last posting about Al Gore. This in Daily Mail today. Long May it continue!!!!!!!

Schools will have to issue a warning before they show pupils Al Gore's controversial film about global warming, a judge indicated yesterday.

The move follows a High Court action by a father who accused the Government of 'brainwashing' children with propaganda by showing it in the classroom.

Stewart Dimmock said the former U.S. Vice-President's documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, is unfit for schools because it is politically biased and contains serious scientific inaccuracies and 'sentimental mush'.

He wants the video banned after it was distributed with four other short films to 3,500 schools in February.

Mr Justice Burton is due to deliver a ruling on the case next week, but yesterday he said he would be saying that Gore's Oscar-winning film does promote 'partisan political views'. This means that teachers will have to warn pupils that there are other opinions on global warming and they should not necessarily accept the views of the film.

He said: 'The result is I will be declaring that, with the guidance as now amended, it will not be unlawful for the film to be shown.'

The outcome marks a partial victory for Mr Dimmock, who had accused the 'New Labour

Thought Police' of indoctrinating youngsters by handing out thousands of Climate Change Packs to schools.

Mr Dimmock, a lorry driver from Dover with children aged 11 and 14, said at the outset of the hearing: 'I wish my children to have the best education possible, free from bias and political spin, and Mr Gore's film falls far short of the standard required.'

His solicitor John Day, said yesterday that the Government had been forced to make 'a U-turn', but said it did not go far enough.

He said 'no amount of turgid guidance' could change the fact that the film is unfit for consumption in the classroom.

The case arises from a decision in February by the then Education Secretary Alan Johnson that DVDs of the film would be sent to all secondary schools in England, along with a multimedia CD produced by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs containing two short films about climate change and an animation about the carbon cycle.

David Miliband, who was Environment-Secretary when the school packs were announced, said at the time: 'The debate over the science of climate change is well and truly over.'

But during the three-day hearing, the court heard that the criticallyacclaimed film contains a number of inaccuracies, exaggerations and statements about global warming for which there is currently insufficient scientific evidence.

The Climate Change Resource Pack has now been sent to more than 3,500 schools and is aimed at key stage 3 pupils - those aged 11 to

Children's Minister Kevin Brennan said last night: 'The judge's decision is clear that schools can continue to use An Inconvenient Truth as part of their teaching on climate change in accordance with the amended guidance, which will be available online today.

'We have updated the accompanying guidance, as requested by the judge to make it clearer for teachers as to the stated Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change position on a number of scientific points raised in the film

Lets hope this is the start of a fight against The great global warming myth !!!!!

Lets hope this is the start of a fight against The great global warming myth !!!!!

why are you setting yourself to fight against a myth?

what students voluntarily distributing free plants to the passers by are branded 'propagating crap'? I would say students are more aware of the state of the global environment than the rest of the population

as to the Labour - a simmilar policies on global warming do have the other political parties in the UK and in the USA (Al Gore). As to taxes - there were introduced in the UK for the aviation industry, which doesn't pay fuel charges. Otherwise, at this stage, it's mainly educational activities as well as implementing the Kyoto agreement

Global warming is to blame for everything that is going wrong today. Eventhough there is nothing wrong with handing out free stuff, it doesn't solve the problem. And the problem is that people are like sheep who will always follow the majority.

Gore's movie was bad. Still most people believe him.

Educate yourself and read some skeptic and denierstuff

First I would like to apologize to Bangkok University students who appear to be doing something about global warming and the ubiquitous and wasteful use of plastic in Thailand. Sorry most of the responses here have been cranky ones, you do not deserve that. Congratulations on your project.

Waterdunce, if you want to dispel some myths I suggest you try taking on religion in general or over-reproduction in particular. They are more worthy targets for your scorn.
