Water in Surin reservoirs is rising due to continuous rainfall

The amount water in 20 reservoirs in Surin province has risen over 70 percent of their standard levels due to continuous rainfall during this period.

Mr. Charan Chaola, the Director of the Royal Irrigation Project in Surin, says continuous rain has caused the quantity of water in 20 reservoirs to increase. Since January this year, all the 20 reservoirs have carried about 121,726,000 cubic meters of water, or about 83.12 percent of total storage. Thus, the 20 reservoirs in Surin can hold 146 million cubic meters maximum.

Meanwhile, the amount of water in four reservoirs out of 20 has exceeded their capacities, and 16 remaining reservoirs can still hold more water.
