Sheffield United

Featured Replies

The Premiership experience for the Blades last year was a real roller coaster.

Hungry for more ,Sheffield United are going to push to bounce back.

Its all early days in the season .

The Blades need all the support.

COME ON YOU REDS

As you know ,its not exactly a great start.

I am really surprised by the crap results. I am also surprised by the comments of Bryan Robson,,,more or less slagging the players off.Uncle Neil never did this.

I suppose that the situation could be worse(below Sheff Wed) but at the moment it has to be said that things are looking pretty dismal at the Lane. :o

where's Dave Bassett when you need him?

  • Author

Indeed.

Maybe we will see Niel Warnock again soon?

  • Author

I spoke too soon about Neil Warnock.

News today that he is to become the new boss at Crystal Palace.

Palace are one place higher than the Blades in the table .

And both at the bottom.

Funny old game

I listened to the internet radio at three in the morning to the game at Leicester on Wed morning.

Unbelivably, this was the Blades first away win since Wigan in December 2006.

Things have been pretty dire at the Lane this season.

It sounded like it was another depressing display of football in the first half.Again.

However,in the second it was a different story.

I hope that this game can be the turning point for an uplift of moral for every one involved with Sheffield United.

Things could be worse,,,but not much.

Where were Sunderland this time last season?

:o

Same place as they have always been. About 10 miles south of Newcastle :D

Yes but Sunderland appointed a Manager who clearly has talent.

Robson had his chance and is destined to be a lower league manager for the rest of his life. ( As well as making a few bob advertising "Proftable Plots" :o

Now if only he could have produced his "Captain Fantastic" on the pitch achievements in his managerial career he would not be managing SU now would he?

I am sorry to say that I don't see Robbo getting you out of this league..unless its to League One :D

He won't be the first great player to fail as a manager...Bobby Charlton was a classic example, trouble is Robbo seems to think he's good. But he has been a manager over ten years now and what has he got to show for it.....Promotion at Boro ...followed by the sack !

Sorry mate but you need an up and coming manger to get you outta there...and stay out

Warnock should never have been allowed to leave IMO.

Lets see how Palace and United fair come the end of the campaign.

PS...I have absolutley nothing against Sheff Utd...just telling it as I see it, and of course I could be 100% wrong and I really hope I am...

Coz Reading normally get six points off you a year. :D

and we could really use those points right now :D

How about Jamie Reeves? Sure he could do a good job. As for Warnock, love him or hate him, his record speaks for itself, and it ain't bad. :o

Good players doesn't equal good managers. Look at some of the best; Wegner, Ferguson, Shankly, Hiddink, Scolari etc...

None of those guys set the world on fire when they were playing, but they are good at what they do now.

Bring on the dream ticket of Shebby Singh & Steve McMahan :o

Like a kind of Managerial partnership?

All that Shebby had to say about the Blades was negative.

Oh god the shame :D

:D Fair play,,,,I was sorry to see Uncle Neil leave .

I think that Reading may have a go to take the points next year,,,,,,,,down here in the fizzy.

As I cant see Robbo (I did) getting us out of it ,,,unless its down.

Yeah, and could have PJ Roberts and the fat Malaysian bloke from Soccer Crazy as the coaches and Masefield could be the director of Football. Now that would be an interesting Soccer show :D

Say what you want about those guys, but I would take any one of them over Mr Blobby and the rest of the useless tossers that they give us now on True Sports :o

Great result from the Lane last night.

I was up at 4 in the morning to listen to the game on the internet radio.

( if this makes me sound sad,,,,,I would rather you read commited ,,cheers)

Good game ,,ref messed up ,but thats what they are here to do.

I could say that this win was Robbo,s saving,,,,,,,cos if it was a loss there would have been hel_l on.

But who am I to say that.

Smiles all round :o

Apart from in Ipswich

See that Beattie got in the goals last night. To be honest Sheff Utd, should be up near the top challenging with side they have got, but it ain't always as simple as that.

Well how things turn around.

SheffU beat Stoke last night(dont all cheer at once ),which is their 6th unbeaten league game in a row,and 12th in the Fizzy.

It had been all doom and gloom recently but it seems that things are picking up,,,I hope that it can be sustained.

Also Sheff Wed are making a great stand now as they were in a worse situation than the Blades ,,5-0 win against Southampton.

I would really love to see both Sheffield clubs up at the top end.

Nice one

I still think Sheff U made a mistake giving the job to Robson. Sheff Wed are doing good things now & am glad the board stuck with Laws (ex Forest) :D

  • Author

Thanks Chavy.

Time will now tell if it was a mistake,,,I was very surprised that Robson appeared on the scene.

Baby and Mama doing well ,,still in the hospital.

Cheers
