Say "silk" times really quickly.

& then

answer this question within a secondof reading it....

What do cows drink?

Water......... it's potentially going to be one of those nights again isn't it :o

Yeah, although cows do actually drink milk - when they are a calf! :D

.....like babies drink whisky......

when grown up.

The odds of a hole in one in golf are anywhere from 5,000:1 to more than 10,000:1 depending on who you believe.

The odds of two players aceing the same hole back to back with consecutive hits is more than 17,000,000:1.

The odds of continued posting in this thread in the hope of making a meaningful contribution to the Bedders community: a certainty.

The odds of a post in this thread actually making a meaningful contribution to the Bedders community: incalculable.

How many times do I have to say all these before answering "What do cows drink" ?

When people have asked me in the past why I chose to come and live in Thailand, I would often answer, because I like mangoes !

and now they are only 20 Baht a kilo........ :o

A Calf is a baby Cow!

Having lots of calfs mark the formation of icebergs.

A Calf is a baby Cow!

Profound sounders old boy...profound.

Should go in double meanings.

Calf ................= 1 baby cow.

No such word as calfs in plural sense,

Calves noun.....= 2 or more baby cows.....LOL

Calves verb .....= A cow, delivering her calf at birth.

Now tell me off......LOL

On This Day in 1590 - 25th April

The Sultan of Morocco launched his successful attack to capture Timbuktu.

When I was kid, any question my parents could not answer, was, "In Timbuktu".

One day, I gotta go there.

This day in history, 26th April.

1895

Start of the Old Bailey trial of playwright Oscar Wilde who's charged with

homosexuality.

Poor Ozzy.

Ok.

Calving is when part of an ice shelf or glacier seperates from the main body to fall into the sea creating an iceberg.

I'll just go and get back on my medication now. :o

Learning English, ESOL, would send me nutz

Drove me nuts at school , anyway.

Has to be taught properly, not just anyway.

Correct, and if it isn't too presumptuous of me, I think that you need a space between any and way :o

Yes, he and Taddy should see a podiatrist!

Sod's (or Murphy's) Law - how to calculate.

(Ratings are 1 least - 10 most)

1. Rate the urgency, importance and complexity of the task on a scale of 1 to 9 and add these figures together.

2. Rate how skilled you are at the task. Subtract this from 10.

3. Multiply your answers to steps 1 and 2 together and divide by 20.

4. Rate from 1 to 9 how frequently you perform the task and divide this by 10.

5. Calculate the sine value of your answer to step 4 (you’ll find this a ‘sin’ on most calculators) and subtract this from 1.

6. Divide 1 by your answer to step 5.

7. Finally, multiply your answer to step 3 by 0.7, and then multiply this by your answer to step 6.

Voila - you have your Sod’s Law rating.

Trust the Brits to come up with something like this (British Gas actually). Probably just a lot of hot air.

The closer to 10 it is, the higher your risk of falling victim to Sod’s Law.

I've never hard it under Murphy's law only Sod's law. Bit too complicated for a simple soul like me!

If Cambridge is built alongside the River Cam, what is the name of the river that Oxford is next to ?

ford

• noun a shallow place in a river or stream where it can be crossed.

• verb cross at a ford.

Askoford.com

So it must be the river Ox!

So all those books come from that long river in South America then ?
