Featured Replies

Anybody?

Can remember a Chinese Lady/Girl, coming to BKK a few months ago. Maybe try the Ladies Forum ?

For what reason are you looking as I know more than a few in BKK

I noticed an increase of these 'expats' in Phuket, and am wondering if this is a growing community here. I'm interested to find out if they are here for the long haul (e.g. business, job, family, etc.) or only on a short term basis (e.g. property investors, extended tourists, etc.).

I'm sure BKK has a bigger community but I'm curious about Phuket's figures.

You can talk to the Chinese consul in Saphan Hin. There is a Chinese restaurant at the entrance to it and behind it is his office. He can help you contact locals here.

Also, Thai Hua school near Central has 7 native speakers teaching Mandarin. They are around, just hard to approach.

Thanks Somtamnication for the info.

It was kinda obvious (why didn't I think of it earlier), but the counsul must be at the building that looks like a Chinese temple?! :o

Not really. It is another building. I never noticed a temple there, but then again, they are everywhere, so I don´t notice them.

As you pass the traffic lights and enter the area, the buildings to the right are his. Just look for the restaurant and you will see it. It is on a corner. Go behind and his tour office (not surprised, are you?) is there. His daughter also speaks fluent English, fyi.

Thanks again for the clear instructions. The Chinese temple-looking building I was referring to earlier is right at the end of the road (where you have to make a u-turn). Restaurant, tour office, counsul - talk about multi-tasking! :o
