Phuket To Manila - Best Route?

Featured Replies

Is anyone familiar with the best (easiest and cheapest) way to travel between Phuket and Manila? (by air, of course)

options:

1)

HKT - KUL AirAsia

KUL - MNL CEBU PACIFIC

2)

HKT - SIN Air Asia or TIGER AIRWAYS or JETSTAR

SIN - MNL JETSTAR or CEBU PACIFIC

3)

HKT - BKK Any Thai Domestic Airline

BKK - MNL CEBU PACIFIC

it of course depends on ur itinerary, but the cheapest is probably version 3), because u will only have to pay the international departure Tax one time. though, Bangkok with it's 700 Baht is the most expensive place for departure Tax, compared to KUL - LCCT or SIN - Lowcost-Terminal.

if you have plenty of time and still want it cheaper, take the bus to Hat Yai and from there take another one to KL, then u will only have to pay for one flight.

Air Asia (from KUL to CRK - Clark Airport) and TIGER AIRWAYS (from SIN to CRK - Clark Airport) may be even cheaper, but then u would have to get the shuttle bus from Clark to downtown Manila (about 2-3 hours).

Done this route 5 times this year already, all from Phuket. Go with Philippine Airlines ! All the other airlines such as Cebu Pacific, Thai etc go to Ninoy Aquino which has to be a very close 2nd to hel_l in regards to the places you would want to visit !

Philippine Airways is nothing special, kind of in-between Thai and Cebu Pacific in terms of comfort, service etc. Cebu Pacific really is budjet airlines, kinda similar to Nok Air & Air Asia. You have to pay for everything and they are skimpish with the air-con. Philippine Airlines has its own airport in Manila and its plain sailing when it comes to check in & immigration, Ninoy Aquino is a nightmare in this department and should be avoided !

Cebu Pacific is cheapest at about 8,000 baht return, PI Airlines a bit more at about 10,000 with Thai at about 13,500. Cebu Pacific has awful times both going there and coming back so not that pleasant, you will need a night in Bangkok on the way back if your going back to Phuket. Thai is the best for flying times and sevice but still the Ninoy Aquino airport is a nightmare as Thai operate the 747's on that route, 747's = lots of people. Lots of people = huge queues ! I did it the last 2 times and never again !

If your leaving Phuket dont bother going via KL or Sing, at least one leg of your journey will involve a night stay in these places. The times just dont add up. The day Air Asia does a direct flight from Phuket to Clark I will be a happy man !......

Phuket to Bangok you just need to get the early Nok Air flight to get the PI Airlines flight, think its about 8.40am, with PI Airlines leaving Bangkok about 12.30pm.

Take my advice, go Philippines Airlines and stay well clear of Ninoy Aquino. You have been warned !....
