You have to go to a MEA branch - or you pay by online banking (possible with Kasikorn).

If ever they cut your electricity, you got the money transfer to show.

thanks! looks like i have to make a trip to the branch. Any idea if they are impatient with cutting off the supply? its only overdue for a week so far. i hope they are patient with me and wait till next week.

Hello,

yes they will be patient. Before cutting it they will send you a warning note, with the date on it, when they will cut it.

regards

Timo

Cut off is usually around the fifteenth of the month. You do not necessarily have to go yourself. Give your favourite motortaxi guy (or gal) the bill, the money and an extra 50 baht and they will go to the mea for you. No need to go yourself as the lines can be long.

I am pretty experienced with this as I usually forget to pay stuff. I get the bills from my postbox downstairs and throw them on top of the "pile" of mail. Usually I do not pay untill the warning comes (which you will get three days before the cutoff date!)

...and the warning note will come if 2 months is already due, plus 7 days (i think more) grace period written in the note

If you live in a condo or an apartment it is not the MEA that cut's the electric but the condo engineer himself. I found that more than 2 days late and you can't pay at 7-11. You are then given a notice that is stuck to your door. If you miss this then they will cut it off. Because I travel for work it has happened to me one time. I spoke to the office and told them I would be paying in the morning. They turned it back on and the next day I showed them my receipt that I paid.

If you live in a condo, the condo staff will pay your electric bill for a 10THB service charge.

It depends on the condo. My condo does but they charge more than 10baht. They ask for 100 - and if late 100 plus the motorcycle taxi fee.
