Accommodations At $5 Per Day Is It Possible?

Featured Replies

It is possible on Koh Phangan. There is a place for around 200THB a night, was about 6 years ago now though. Was just a wooden peice of shack (shared) on a rocky cliff. Sorry cant help anymore but I only stayed there one night because it was <deleted>. Sure is was called something like sunset, it had new build bungalows going up next to it, but its probably levelled now for decent accomodation!

Hi guys,

do you know if this is possible? I am not sure they can achieve this and I don't know where to look for this kind of places as google returns accommodation for $8 minimum.....

They are going to travel around LOS a bit.... Their trip should cover these places ....Bangkok (i think KSR should be in their budget) then Pattaya then Koh Chang.

Hua Hin, Phuket, Krabi, Koh Samui, Phi Phi. And finally Chian Mai.

Thanks for yr help......

:D

I'm sure they could do it...But what a miserable existence... :D

Far better to come for a shorter trip...how are they going to get to Bkk, Pattaya, Koh Chang, Hua Hin, Phuket, Krabi, Samui and Chiang Mai...???

I suggest they buy a decent pair of trainers and swimming shorts at Emporium (and blow their budget for a week :D ) because they're going to have to walk and swim! :o

Christ, KSR too expensive :D ? IMHO that budget is totally unrealistic...

RAZZ

yes, redusing those 11 destinations to 2-3 (probably the cheapest ones) would be the way to go

Thanks guys!

I told them exactly what Canadian G. posted here.

Anyway their budget is $20 per day on a 5555 basis ( $5 accom. $5 food $5 booze $5 transportation) .....

Not sure how they are going to party on a $5 booze' budget thou! :o

Thanks again!!!

Tell your friends it's dangerous, walking around with so much cash; better do travelers' checks or devide the cash amongst the group. Robbers you know....

For accomodation don't forget that Thailand, like many other countries, has an excellent chain of International Youth Hostels, see www.tyha.org for latest details. Clean, safe, friendly & helpful ... with cheap dorm-beds (often from only B100 or so) as well as low-cost family-rooms.

OK I don't hostel so much now, I prefer & can afford more comfort, but they're still a good option !

  • 1 year later...

It's possible but maybe tight in high season

These guys give some ideas on cheap accommodation

You're welcome to stay at my farm house in the middle of nowhere, but you might have to cut down some of the jungle while you're there. :)

So I start reading the thread then I see the date of the original post

Why and how did this come up again <deleted>
