Anyone have a good link for Bangkok street map? Google and Mapquest are no good (but Google Earth is VERY interesting for satellite imagery).

Thanks!

ThinkNet - MapMagic CD which I bought from SE-ED bookshop is great as a road map for the whole of Thailand. Can zoom in, get info regarding routes to take, measure distances.

You can configure which layers you want displayed (e.g. petrol stations, shopping centers, national parks). Works in English and Thai language (i believe).

You don't need the CD in the CDROM when you use it. Install and forget. Cost about Bt 300 for the CD which also came with a very good fold-out map.

I agree, the ThinkNet maps are great - they also have ones for different areas of Thailand, eg whole thailand and just BKK. Some eg. Pattaya are only paper-based.

Good map. Just found out an apartment "close to" Lad Prao MRT is actually at least 4KM away.

Yes, the ThinkNet maps are handy!  When going someplace in Bangkok or upcountry that I've not been to before I try to narrow it down to my intended destination, then copy the Latitute and Longitude off the bottom of the screen, stick that in my GPS and drive on.  Has worked quite well.

Great idea - I'll just have to try again at figuring out how to use my GPS thingy. Last time I got lost on the way to CM with it - and there was only 2 roads - both heading to CM. I thought the GPS thingy kept telling me to go back south - I guess it must have been telling me to turn north.
