Not sure how many of you will be aware of this but the bridge linking the northern and southern sections of the outer ring road (route 9) over the Chao Phraya is now open and at the moment is free to use. I went over it yesterday on my way to Pattaya, see attached picture my wife snapped as we passed under the impressive cables. It will certainly be a lot quicker for me to get to the airport now (from Ratchaburi). Sorry if someone has already mentioned this but I couldn't see anything when I looked.

Is the route well sign posted I assume it shows route 9, I know when I used the ring road from the south going north difficult to see the signs but that was 3 years ago so maybe now all is clear. I have a Gps but this routes not on the map I have.

Actually it connects the Eastern and Western outer ring roads. It is route 9.

I'll have to keep that one in mind...could be useful on our next trip to Hua Hin. We live close to the eastern part of Outer Ring Road which links up with Ayutthaya going north and Route 7 (to the east) going south.
