As far i know that is not possible with out examination,, as in Thailand we are driving on left and Norway driving on right side,,,

It did not work in Finland so i think it wont work in Norway as well,,,,

in FIN they hardly even recognize Thai license,,,as there is no English at all beside the name.

Do you have a Thai driver's license? If so, you can also get an International Driving Permit from the same organization from which you got your Thai license. That document will allow you to drive in Finland.

....and it is only honored for non-citizens/residents. a norwegian can not legally drive with an international driver license, nor with a foreign license in norway at any time. this applies for all scandinavian countries, you need to take a written and a practical test in order to convert it, and if you decide to; you need to have stayed away from norway for the past 12 months - which they will ask for copies of your passport where entry/exit stamp of that specific country your license is issued from, and you need to do the conversion within 12 months upon your return. it's tricky.

btw a license in norway is just about 35k THB for the mandatory tests. 150k would be if you needed 50 hours practice, which is another story ...

I actually understand it to be that you cannot use a license in your 'normal domicle' so a Norwegian certainly could use an international in Norway as long as he wasnt ordinarily resident in Norway.

However getting an international license in Thailand cannot happen without first getting a Thai 1 year then getting a Thai 5 year then applying, (takes up to about 8 weeks) and for all of those you need to be on a long stay residents visa.. Quite a bit of work for a document valid for 1 year only.

If you have a norwegian passport the above will apply. For others (read: anyone else without a norwegian passport) must convert their license within a year, after that they cannot drive legally.
